I have nothing against them, but I can not stand playing at the site. The only reason is because of the software. I've tried playing there twice and it just sucks too hard for me. It really frustrating to click anything because it takes that extra half second to respond. Plus the way its all designed makes me squint which really kills it for me.
I would love to love the software and play with 80,000 people, but just can't do it.

Well thats good you guys like it. I mean there has to be a reason that the civilized world except for me prefers stars. I dunno why...I think that most of the problem is coming from UB's software to pstars. I mean damn UB sucks because pokertracker is pretty much useless there and the games are terrible..but the software is so responsive and easy to read. You push a button and it instantly responds plus there is no problem with reading the pot or bet sizes. One super cool thing I noticed about stars though is they have a "sit out next blind" option which is definitely geared towards the high volume players. I do respect them for doing it all right, I just wish the software was a little more windowsy and a little less amiga eye of the beholder 2y

I sort of agree, though less than I used to. Stars is: really slow, doesn't show hole cards when you're all in, and the chat window steals anything you may be typing anywhere else. However, the actual options the Stars site gives you are second to none, and it's prettier than most. So I don't hate it any more.

I hated Pokerstars until I discovered Single Click table activation (Options->Advanced Multi-table Options).
Why the hell is that not turned on by default?

Why does everybody just ignore UB?
Its software is the best I've used (only played on 5 rooms), too bad the traffic there (because everybody ignores it) sucks, compared to party or stars.
The software is much better than any other I've tried. The miniview is absolutely masterful, allowing you to 20-table (if you appear on the star-trek cast as Data) on one screen if you want. Especially better than stars (which, by itself, is better than party).
(I hate the stars themes too)

Turn on `Single click table activation'. Before I found this option I was mashing the buttons twice everytime. Also, try the hyper-simple theme if you find the default one a bit busy, or there are probably some custom ones on 2p2 somwhere.

UB has a nice interface for the tables but the note taking interface sucks. You need to right-click on the player, select notes from the menu. Then you get a small window that you cant resize and the text doesnt wrap. The note taking interface on Stars is much better is this respect IMHO.

I haven't played on that many sites, but of the 4 or 5 I've played so far, the only good site for note taking is PS so far. What other sites are good for note taking?

Full tilt and Pokerroom (Ongame) both have colour coding, which rocks. On PokerRoom you can see the colour codes, and notes on the tables in the lobby. I wish stars would add that (and a proper buddy list).

PT works fine on UB, it's just a pain in the ass having those hand history windows open all the time. That and the fact that the bonus clearing rate is horrible and the traffic is down is why I'm leaving there.
Can't take notes there either when you have a lot of tables going and a lot of HH windows open too, you can't type anything because other windows pop up every second.

I like Pokerstars. It would be so much better if their cash games would be juicier. But I solely play SNG's and MTT's there.

What they need is a GLOBAL sit out button on the main page for when the phone rings, or nature calls... if I happen to be 9+ tabling it freakin' blows to sit out on ALL of them...
|
|
So you click their picture and then you get their money?
