"Due to jurisdictional legalities, we are unable to permit residents of Canada to open an account."
That's the msg I got when I selected "Canada" as my country of residence from their drop down list. Uhhhh ... legalities? What?
So if I want to sign up for a bodog account, I have to say I'm not from Canada. Is there any disadvantage to this? Or should I just go ahead and say I live in the states/Afghanistan/Poland? Does it matter?
Thanks in advance.

You may run into trouble when you deposit or withdraw, and could lose some money if they find out. I wouldn't risk it personally. The games are really soft, but i'm not going to lie to them for a slightly higher winrate. The best option i can think of, is if you know someone from the states you could get them to make an account, but even then thats kinda sketchy.

Uhh... you're Canadian. I figured you all were already use to being second class citizens in a world clearly run by the United States.

Yeah. Just don't mess with it. It would suck to be in a lose-lose situation where if you send them your ID and it shows your canadian, they keep your money. Just keep playing at where you've been playing.

Same shit with us Australians, if I remember from when I went to sign up.
Except I think mine would let me sign up, just mentioned about all this hassle I'd have to go through to clear any withdraws.
Needless to say I didn't deposit.

Bodog is based out of Vancouver I believe. Even though there is no law that says they cannot deal with Canadians, it is a gray area. So, they choose to not let us join.

Bodog wouldn't let me deposit with credit card, but they let me play.
