Looks like all the iPoker sites are changing from dealt to contributed rake. Another few thousand customers for Pokerstars then.

Good, because it will mostly be short stacking RB pros that it costs the most. Anyone worth their salt on iPoker still has a RB deal and plays looser than 16/12. I play there and according to the iPoker thread on 2p2, it won't affect most regs. Just the multitabling nit/bot players. I still have a RB deal for now and am getting almost 60% with bonus's RB and Rake races. I believe it will help the site, giving more casual players the sense of a better site, not having the same 15 guys playing on 16 tables with 20BB, push folding 10/8 for dealt hands.
Before anyone asks there are no new RB deals, they needed to be grandfathered in from previous accounts on other networks or befor iPoker buckled down.

For me as a limit player, the immediate problem is now a lack of tables. For example, last night (UK time) there were only 2 full ring 1/2 tables. Usually more than 10.
My VPIP for full ring is about 18%. When you consider the blinds I will be contributing to the pot about 34% of the time. On Chilipoker I currently get about 1.4 FPP per hand. Looking at the new FPP structure I think I will get at best 1 FPP per hand (34% * ~3 FPP).
For this change to be neutral for me I would need to contribute to 47% of pots (including blinds).
Looking at it another way for a full ring 1/2 game, chilipoker "pays out" on average 14 FPP (1.4 * 10) per raked hand. For this change to be neutral they have to give the new 3 FPP to 4.6 players. From my experience on iPoker most hands are blind battles or 2 or 3 to the flop. So unless things loosen up significantly they are paying out less.

This had to happen. There were far too many nits on iPoker just grinding it out - killed the action.

QFT Though I think I prefer 1-2 non-rock infested tables to the previous choice of 8+ tables with 8-13% seeing the flop.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
