In Party Poker hand histories, the cards of each player that sees the showdown are given. At some other sites, like Absolute Poker, the cards are not given for any losing player who mucks at showdown.
Do you prefer to see the showdown cards, or do you like the fact that other players can't see the hand you were playing?

The more information the better. I am willing to divulge information on myself for the information that I can gain via this "feature".

I tend to like it just because I like seeing how stupid some people are so I can laugh my ass off. I rarely use them to actually collect valuable data on what people play. If I had poker tracker then hell yeah I would be using it for the data but I dont so it just isnt worth it to me.

I love it most on the Party skins where people lie about what they had and you can just look instantly and berate them.

Not only do I think you should be able to see all showdown hands in the hand history, but I think you should be able to see them at the time of the showdown. This would be especially good for AI situations, as it is done in tournaments at Stars and Party. It's a lot more interesting that way, and if you are 'entitled' to the info, then why not?

To say that you are "entitled" to the info isn't truly 100% correct. You can request that the person show but he isn't obligated to do so (at least I don't believe that they are).
Does anyone know the true rule on this? Also, why is it that in tourneys players flip up their cards when there is an all-in but this is not the case in a ring game?

Jim,
The reason I say entitled is because you can just as easily get the hand history immediately following the hand. I read somewhere at FTR that players can request to see any hand that makes it to showdown. I'm sure someone can post the Robert's Rule that deals with this.

Any player who has been dealt in may request to see any hand that has been called, even if the opponent's hand or the winning hand has been mucked. However, this is a privilege that may be revoked if abused. If a player other than the pot winner asks to see a hand that has been folded, that hand is dead. If the winning player asks to see a losing player's hand, both hands are live, and the best hand wins.

I'm not exactly sure what Robert means by "if abused". My guess would be that this would mean if the continued request slows the game down or something. This wouldn't be an issue in an online game though.
