I know we've gone into this before, but I thought I'd bring it up again since I searched and couldn't find the old thread.
How many tables to you guys play at once and why?

I'm currently doing 3 $25 NL tables at once. I find that player reads aren't that important at that level as ABC poker tends to work just fine. 3 tables keeps me from getting bored/loose as well.
However, I never play multiple tables if I'm in a tourney.

I play 2 at a time lately. I used to play 3-4, but then I didn't have time to read/post at FTR between hands. I also found myself making too many loose calls. Trying to make a tough decision while the table in the background is beeping for your attention is a MAJOR distraction.
2 at a time is just right for me to keep up with the action and kind of keep an eye on what kind of players I'm up against.
I would do better just playing 1 at a time, but it just gets too boring.

I used play 2 at a time, and then I got a 21" monitor that does 1600x1200.
Having all that space and only 2 tables seems like a waste
So lately I've been running 4 tables. with a VP$IP its not hard to play 4 tables at once .. I opened up preflop to about 18% and I've learned I can't read people as well, and my win rate suffers. I get tilted on one table and it carries over to all 4. Next thing I know I'm playing bad on 4tables at once. So instead of dropping 3-4 BB's playing on 1-2 hands in a row bad, I toss 10-15 across tables at once.
Perfect example, last night I had 2 hands busted on the river to someone catching their kicker. The side affect was me pushing the next few hands at each table harder and instead of just the 7BB's from losing those 2hands, I lost 25BBs across 4 tables trying to push marginal flops.
I need to stick with 2 tables and focus more.

I have just recently started playing two tables - for about 2 weeks now...it seems to be working out just fine. There has been no noticable difference in my results. At this point I think 3 or 4 tables would be too much for me to handle.
I just hate that I cant fit both on the screen at once. I have a 19" LCD that does 1200x768 or 1200x1024 - can't remember which, but two PS tables will not fit.
Mike is your 21" an LCD..and if so what brand is it? I have been looking at the 23" Samsung LCD's (pretty reasonable price for the size) but if I can get away with a 21" and save the money I would rather do that.

no my 21" a CRT, something about 4-5 years old I borrowed it from work
Fnord just bought a LCD that does 1600x1200, maybe he'd share some model info / price.
I had a 17" monitor that I put on its side, i could stack 2 tables like that

I play 4 tables at a time and its because I play at low limits and consider all the players to be generally stupid so its easily still beatable and I believe it only makes me more money. I would never do this if I moved up to say 200 buy in tables. I would stick to 2.
