Has anyone tried clearing a bonus from this site? How hard/easy is it?

They've got a couple HUGE bonuses going on right now that seem pretty unbelievable, so I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has tried to clear them...

Just guesstimating with some horrible math. It looks equivalent to 20x raked hands for the big bonus at 2/4 limit. I could be off a hair, or a whole hair band.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Well, the reason I asked is because there's a 1000% bonus up to $10,000 right now over at Hollywood Poker. Apparently you have to acquire 13.5 "poker points" for every bonus dollar.

If you actually tried to accomplish this you'd have to acquire 135,000 poker points, or basically 370 poker points per day. I watched a few tables for a while and it looked like it'd be slow-going to rack up points on a daily basis.

Unless you quit your job and did nothing but play for this bonus I'd say it's damn near impossible to accomplish (you could possibly have a part-time job if you were playing super high stakes, but if you were playing super high stakes why would you need a part-time job?).

i'm enrolled for the 1000% bonus...too bad the restrictions on neteller and 1st time deposits are less than $1k, but the CSRs assured me that separate deposits totaling to $1k could still qualify for the bonus.

yeah the hands/bonus dollar ratio is pretty nasty, but theres still good points to this:

1. the bonus is released in increments of $50, at 750 pts per $50.

2. you get a full year (365 days) to collect as many $50 bonuses as you like.

3. you can withdraw up to all your initial deposit without forfeiting the bonuses.

4. i *believe* the last $1k in bonus is released automatically once you clear the first $9k, making this an overall 13.5 pts/bonus $ deal.

Yeah accumulating pts sucks (they're based on the rake taken from each hand, on a sliding scale), but an empirical calculation based on the average # hands and the average rake/hand leads me to believe that quad-tabling 1/2 limit for 2 hrs a day can clear the full 10k bonus in 365 days. im nowhere near that hardcore, but that much practice at limit will likely lead me to jump up in limits at some point.

and like i said, even getting 1 or 2 grand in bonus is just fine with me. the full 10k is definitely a daunting task, but its a nice goal to have i guess.

i think this is my first post....wahoo....

btw the bonus is through the bonuswhores affiliate only, and the CSR was hesitant as to when it would expire. so if you guys are interested, jump on this soon.

i currently have 150 $50 bonuses listed on my hollywood poker acct, corresponding to the $750 max initial deposit. hopefully i'll get the other 50 $50 bonuses soon.

MB2447 -- Let me know how many hours/hands you have to play to clear your first $50. A couple days ago I watched a table for about fifteen minutes and it looked like ONE POINT had been cleared (this was NL100) in that time frame. The table was tight for the few hands that I saw, but still...even if you could clear two points every fifteen minutes, or eight per hour...that's only thirty-two per hour if you're 4-tabling.

To me, it doesn't seem that it's worth it. If possible, let me know what type of experience you have with this site. Thanks.

yes, it is PT-supported. It's a skin of pokerroom - go to pokertracker's home page, you'll need to download some sort of SQL plugin (i think?) for it to work.

like i said before, a pretty rough calculation would be about 6.5 hrs of quad-tabling 1/2 for every bonus. No it's not very fast, and in that timeframe even 1 BB/hr would amount to as much as the bonus would.

I think about it this way - I like limit. I want to play limit. I want to log lots and lots of hands at limit so I get pretty proficient (I played NL50 and 100 for about a year before deciding to switch). The bonuses can be regarded as a side bonus in this way to the main goal of getting good at limit and moving up in stakes.

The site itself is fine...the software works, only annoying thing is that the avatars at particular positions are fixed (seat 1 is always the same chick, etc.). It supports at least 4 tables at a time, and they have from 0.15-0.30 to 25-50 (and up). Sometimes I wish they had more tables, especially late at night, but that's not a big deal.

Thanks for the reply. This bonus clears at about the same rate as Bodog's, so I guess I can't complain (I figured Bodog's to clear at about $10 per hour, playing 2-3 tables).

I guess it's not a bad bonus to do if you're going to play a lot...but I don't think anyone will ever get close to the $10,000 bonus. You'd have to play 5-6 hours a day for the rest of the year, EVERY DAY, at least.

Party Skins are still the best bonuses to clear...I can clear 700 raked hands in about 5.5 hours, so about $18 or so an hour to clear them on top of profits.

I'm eventually going to go for the 1000K bonus with rakeback.I figure the odds aren't likely that I'll make anywhere near the 10K bonus so might as well go for a smaller reasonable amount with rakeback.
