I am a NL player and was wanting to finally start playing online.

I have an initial bankroll of $500, but wanted to know how I should start using that money.

Where should I initially deposit that money? Should I do it all at once, split it up, which sites?

Is there an order of sites that I should follow for withdraw, deposit, etc?

I've read a lot of the 5% use of bankroll per day and will be following that advice while playing some NL and NL-sit-n-go games.

Thanks for all your help!

$500 is the PERFECT amount for bonus whoring. Bonus whoring would be the quickest and easiest way to give your roll a nice initial boost. Refer to the bonus whoring post somewhere around here
Goal for 2005: $30k
So far: $31k

Wow Phlegm, you're so helpful. Douche bag (hi I love you). Okay, here is the bonus whoring thread.

Basically......go to every Party skin that you can. Bonus whore them like there is no tomorrow. I made like $1000 in my first couple weeks playing, winning some money and taking their bonuses.

PM me if you want some help bro.

We all agree that with $500 and NO POKER ACCOUNTS, you should be getting bonuses. Party sites will offer you a MINIMUM of 20% up to $100 on your first deposit, so there's a start. You will need a Neteller account to freely and fluidly move your money. As soon as you have completed a bonus, move to the next one. There's no reason you should play without a bonus for your first several weeks, probably 2 months. And in this time, I would expect you can see $1000+ in deposit money alone (hopefully you win lots on the tables too!). But the bonuses will definitely keep you from busting out even if you have a terrible run of cards.

Look for a PM from me. If you need more specific, detailed advice, I'll take the time to to get you up and moving.

EasyT.

Party Skins. They are the easiest to clear (by far). They all have initial deposit bonuses (20% up to $100). I think you need to play 7 x's the bonus in raked hands to get paid (700 hands). There are six Party Skins so that's $600 right there.

Empire, Multipoker, and Party Poker have reloads every month. Each site requires a different amount of raked hands for you to play before you get paid, but they are usually reasonable bonuses to clear. Multipoker's is 20 x's so it'll take you a little while to clear it, but it's worth it.

All totaled you should be able to play an entire month of poker (and possibly more than that) always playing towards a bonus. If you break even poker wise you should earn around $900 in your first month and a half or two months in bonuses alone.

Ohh yeah. Eurobet's initial deposit bonus is only 25% up to $50. They also offer a $25 bonus every month. It's not a reload bonus, they give it to you for free. You just have to play 375 raked hands to get $25.

If you have rakeback is the bonus on eurobet taken from your rakeback like it is on some sites?

Nobody is saying that there aren't BIGGER bonuses out there than Party. It's just that the partyskin bonuses are relatively easy to 'clear' (earn) even at the lowest stakes ring game (NL$25 with blinds $0.10/$0.25). Assuming a beginner wants to start off small-ish, Party&co. has the best bonus deal available.

HOWEVER- It is still really recommended that you have ~$500 in designated poker money (your bank-roll) to play the Party NL25 games (20 buy-ins). If you don't have that kind of cash commitment, you should play smaller stakes which are available at other sites. Pacific and Paradise poker both have smaller buy-in tables than $25, and bonuses available.

Like I told funsunbunch, I'd be happy to walk you through it if you have questions, zboyce. I got there with the help of FTR'rs, so now I guess its on me to help the next guy.

EasyT.

The place I get my rakeback started subtracting my rakeback earned during the bonus period at Eurobet. Didn't used to, but now they do.

I believe you have to deposit $25 in order to get the monthly bonus.

Absolute Poker has a 100% initial deposit bonus up to $100.
To clear 100 raked hands of .25 are required. I think that it is not too hard to clear and then you can withdrawl and play in a different room if u want

Nope, you don't. You can just transfer money from Poker to Sportsbook, then back to Poker from your Sportsbook (all the while entering the bonus code for that month).

I understand that the rakeback terms at Euro changed about four weeks ago and they're tightening the belt a tad. I think this must be part of the "new deal".

WELCOME TO FTR!

I'd love to start spewing advice at you, but we don't know anything about you except your bankroll, so I don't know how to best answer your question, except to say, Open a Neteller account (check spelling - net-eller). There is plenty of information you can find at FTR using the search feature, and plenty of friends to be made. If you can't find answers, we'll be hanging out to help each other out, plus I have a PM button.
I'm a know-it-all.

No, really.

Another good site I would recommend, especially if you SNGs, Is Bodog. 20% on every deposit you make. I'm clearing about a free $110 now in the $20+2s. fishy players, nice layout, good bonus. especially if you're between the monthly bonuses from the party skins, this is another good way to bulk up the old 'roll
