I've been trying to complete my first deposit ever to a poker room (Bodog) and have been running into a lot of brick walls. Here's the short of it:
Bodog has two places on its website which provides deposit information. One lists the available US deposit methods as:
1. Instant Check (send bank account info / ID before withdrawal)
2. Credit Card / Gift Card (send in info via online form)
3. eWalletExpress
Another place on the site lists these three methods.
1. Rapid Transfer (send money through a third party, e.g. Western Union)
2. CC
3. eWallet
Okay. I don't have any credit cards (and like it that way) and so CC deposit is out. I had a Visa gift card, but that was rejected by the site (presumably, the bank is hostile to gaming transactions). So #2 is a no-go. So I called customer service to ask about the instant check method. They no longer offer it (I guess the first page was outdated).
So basically what I'm left with is two crappy deposit methods. First, rapid transfer, in which I have to somehow find, contact, and screw around with some Western Union Location, potentially have to use credit cards (which I don't have) and pay horrendous fees (Considering I only want to deposit a meager $50-100 here).
Option B is eWallet, which also seems like crap. They (seemingly) have no deposit fees, but charge TEN PERCENT to withdrawal funds from there, and I'm no sure whether Bodog will send my winnings to me by check or send my winnings (withdrawals) back to eWallet who will eat it up when I try to get it out.
So should I download PokerStars or...
But seriously, when did gambling get so damn hard? At the horse track you give 'em a couple bucks, they give you a ticket. Fuck Frist.

10% at ewallet is rediculous.
I used them, then got my roll up, withdrew a bunch, and then read 10%fee, so its still sitting in ewallet untill I find another site that uses ewallet and where i can get Rakeback.
does Bodog offer rakeback?

Last time I deposited on Bodog, I bought phone minutes from some company and Bodog traded me cash for phone minutes. Fees ended up being something like 4% or 8%. I'll look up the company if you're interested.
I've never withdrawn from Bodog, but I fear they will pay me with phone minutes.
