11/11/2004 - Updated the raked hand requirement for Royal Vegas. This requirement may apply to all Prima sites (i.e. - Gaming Club) but I am not certain.

Personally, I wish that all sites would just make it so that all you had to do to clear bonuses is played X amount of raked hands. Speaking as a player, that is the easiest and most convenient way to clear bonuses. I am not a fan at all of sites that require you to earn frequent player points (there are other names for these but that is essentially what they are) to clear bonuses. In general, these points take much longer to accumulate and clear bonuses than playing the standard 5x the raked hands to clear the bonuses.

Here is a list (from my experience) of the sites that I have played at or heard about and the way that they require you to clear your bonuses. I thought that this might be informative for newer players that might be deciding where to put their money.

Anyone having additional information about other sites not listed here or information that can complete anything incomplete here please post:

Require Raked Hands to Clear Bonuses
- PARTY POKER - Requires 5x the # of raked hands ($100 bonus would require 500 raked hands). Although I have occasionally seen a bonus offer that required 7x the # of raked hands.

- EMPIRE POKER - Requires 5x the # of raked hands ($100 bonus would require 500 raked hands).

- PARADISE POKER - Releases bonus in $10 increments for every 100 hands played (10x the # of raked hands). So, $100 bonus would take 1000 raked hands to release.

- INTERPOKER - Requires 5x the # of raked hands ($100 bonus would require 500 raked hands).

- PACIFIC POKER - This bonus is released into your account immediately for use at the tables. However, you may not withdraw this bonus amount until the following criteria are met. "All Bonuses may be Cashed Out only after an amount totaling no less than twenty (20) times the Bonus amount received has been wagered (e.g., a $100 dollar Bonus must be wagered in a total amount equaling no less than $2,000). NETeller instacash fee (8.9% of the deposit amount) may be Cashed Out only after an amount totaling no less than two (2) times the instacash fee amount received has been wagered (e.g., a $100 dollar Bonus must be wagered in a total amount equaling no less than $200)."

- ROYAL VEGAS - In order to clear a bonus in this poker room you need to play (The amount of your deposit + the bonus amount) x 3 raked jands. For example, if you deposit $100, you would get a $40 bonus. In order to release this bonus you would need to play ($100 + $40) x 3 = 140 x 3 = 420 Raked Hands.

- THE GAMING CLUB - Requires x amount of raked hands to release bonus. Anyone having the exact number please fill this in.

Require Frequent Player Points to Clear Bonuses
- ULTIMATE BET - Bonus is earned at the rate of $1 per 10 Ultimate Points. You earn 1 Ultimate Point for any raked hand with a rake over $1. You also will earn fractions of a point for any raked hand that is less than $1. You only need to be dealt cards in a raked hand to be credited with the points for that hand and it is not necessary that you put any money into the pot. Ultimate Points are also earned at the rate of 6 points for every $1 of tourney buy-in fee. If you are the 1st or 2nd person to sit down at a table you earn twice the points as you would normally.

- FULL TILT - Released by earning FPP's. You receive 1 point for every dollar of rake per hand with a maximum of 3 points per hand. You are also awarded fractions of a point for any rake less than $1. You only need to be dealt cards in a raked hand to be credited with the points for that hand and it is not necessary that you put any money into the pot. Each point is worth $0.06 toward your bonus. Bonuses are released in 20% increments.

- POKERSTARS - Unsure as I have never received a bonus from this site. I know that they have FPP's (Frequent Player Points) and I believe that when you are trying to clear a bonus here it is cleared by earning FPP's. Anyone with information on clearing bonuses from this site please update this information.

Well, that's all the information that I could scrounge up. Hopefully this will be useful to a new player looking to put their money somewhere and get a bonus or anyone looking to bonus-whore and wanting to know what's involved for each site.

Again, anyone having additional information please go ahead and add it here and I will edit the original message with the updated information.

Pokerstars is kinda weird. http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp.html
It seems in a ring game FPP is hard to recieve, whereas you get a decent number when you enter a SNG

Pacific Poker: (from their site)
11. Bonus Policy

Pacific Poker Bonus Policy states that:

1. The Initial 25% Deposit Bonus, up to $100, will not be applied in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.
One initial deposit bonus per household allowed.
2. All Bonuses may be Cashed Out only after an amount totaling no less than twenty (20) times the Bonus amount received has been wagered (e.g., a $100 dollar Bonus must be wagered in a total amount equaling no less than $2,000).
NETeller instacash fee (8.9% of the deposit amount) may be Cashed Out only after an amount totaling no less than two (2) times the instacash fee amount received has been wagered (e.g., a $100 dollar Bonus must be wagered in a total amount equaling no less than $200).
3. Bonus Policy applies to all event or promotion funds received in excess of regular payouts.
4. Pacific Poker reserves the right to withhold the amount of any Bonus from a Member's Cash Out.
5. All Bonuses must be wagered at Pacific Poker within three months of being credited to a Member's Account. Any Bonuses not used within this time period will be automatically revoked by Pacific Poker. Any promotional offers extended to Members (whether of bonuses or otherwise) must be claimed by the Member within three months of the date of notification of the offer.
6. In the event of abuse, Pacific Poker reserves the right to discontinue the Member's Pacific Poker Membership and to prevent the Member from accessing the Poker Room in the future.

Also a note on UB. If you are the 1st or 2nd player at a table, you are able to earn twice the Ultimate Points. I was on a 6 max table .50/1 and release $20 in bonus money in 6 hours of play.

Excellent, Jes_Gru! Thanks! I had forgotten about the 2x the points for being one of the first 2 people to start a new table. I have edited the original post with this information.

I did not go to the PokerStars site because I am at work and I don't think it would be a good idea. I was planning on visiting it at home this evening so I will read their policy and edit the original post after that.

Pacific is by far the best with bonuses. They give you the money up front. I deposited money, got the bonus, then withdrew my money, just playing off bonus money. Sweet deal. If you play a lot of 1/2, 2/4 and up, they also have a bonus where they give you 1.00 every time you bet 1,000. Kind of a rake payback deal I suppose.

The Gaming Club - You have to get 300 points to get 20.00. I believe you get one point every time you play a pot that is raked .25 or more. What I am not sure of, is if you have to see the flop or have money in the pot, or just be at the table. To check your points, click on the button "Promotions and Events" in the bottom right hand corner. The points update about every 2 hours, not instantly like at PokerStars and Party. Every time you hit 300 points, they give you 20.00, up to 200.00. I've done it once so far and they deposited the money in about 2 hours afterwards.

PokerStars - you get 1 FPP for every pot that gets raked 50 cents. This is rare in a .25/.50 game -- I cleared mine fairly quickly at the .50/1.00 level. I deposited 120 dollars and cleared my 24.00 bonus in 600 hands at .50/1.00 multitabling.

Royal Vegas - When I deposited there a month ago, they gave me the bonus right away, but I couldn't withdraw it until I played X amount of raked hands. I don't know what X is in this case, but I didn't care either. I took my money out and played off theirs.

Platinum Poker - You have to get 1000 action points for every 10 dollars bonus. These are very quick to accumulate, and they update instantly. I think it might be 1 action point for every .25 bet, but I'm not sure on this. Cashouts were very fast for me there too. Doyle's Room is another skin of the same software.

Hope this helps. I have been doing quite a bit of slumming/bonus whoring. I'm now at the point where I can consistenly beat the .50/1.00 games and the extra bonus money makes it even more profitable.

Since you cannot read it, here it is from Poker Stars:

How Do I Get Frequent Player Points?

Players accumulate FPPs by playing in raked cash games, multi-table tournaments and Sit & Go Tournaments that include a tournament fee.

1. Earn Points for Cash Game Play

One (1) Frequent Player Point (FPP) is awarded for playing in each raked game when the rake reaches:

$0.50 for fixed limit games with stakes $0.50/$1.00 and lower
$0.75 for fixed limit games with stakes $1/$2
$1.00 for pot limit games, no limit games, and fixed limit games with stakes $2/$4 and higher

2. Earn Points for Tournament Play

Five (5) FPPs are awarded for each $1 in tournament fees paid.

For example, in a tournament with $20 buy-in and $2 tournament fee, each player will be awarded 10 FPPs.

Partial Frequent Player Points are always rounded up to the nearest whole number.

For example, in a $5 buy-in Sit & Go tournament with only a $0.50 fee, 3 FPPs (instead of 2.5) will be awarded to each player in this tournament.

jmrogers,

Great post, this information is nice to have in one spot, thanks for taking the initiative and accumulating all this. Our visitors will find this very helpful. If you don't mind, when you're done updating this, I'd like to move a copy of it to HTML and move it to our Poker Room section. Thanks!

No problem, Tyson. I know that I have always wanted to know what's involved in clearing bonuses for all of the sites that we all play at so I just figured it might be useful as you said to have it all in one spot. Feel free to do whatever you like with the information.

oh, and please.... call me, Jim!

Great post, but don't different sites have different definitions of what a raked hand is? For instance, in a recent thread it was shown that Interpoker only required that you receive cards for a raked pot, whereas Capt. Cooks (and I assume the other Prima sites) requires you see the flop at a $.25 limit and up table. Big difference I would think!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that they say (Capt. Cooks) the initial 50% bonus up to $50 has to be played off by 200 raked hands, but it's immediately credited to your account and you can use it to play right away. There is a weekly 100% match up to $50 that requires 500 raked hands, but again, I believe it gets credited immediately and the play off requirements are only to withdraw the bonuses.

If my info is incorrect I would appreciate any corrections you have. Thanks.
