I love the posts re this topic and found them very humorous!! I have had a fair amount of success on Empire, Party Poker, and PokerStars.... and have played in two FTR tournaments at PokerStars w/ some success. By the way... I really enjoy the FTR tournys b/c I felt I was playing w/ quality players who actually knew what they were doing....I only wish I had time to play in more..... my wife and I have 8 month old twins..... a little busy All right... back on track re my post...

I would like to comment that I have witnessed what appears to me to be an abnormal amount of miracle draws and bad beats (only a very few of which I was on the r/c end - thankfully)! It seems I have witnessed far more of these 'miracle hands/bad beats' on-line than I have in live games or that one would see in a lifetime of live games. It is an interesting observation. I was curious what all of you thought and came here to ask.... but after reading the posts... I guess I have an idea:P So.... let me ask this... b/c I believe the quality of poker playing skills from most players assoc w/ this forum is on avg higher than one would find in most on-line games..... I would like to hear if anyone thinks a particular on-line site has a 'better reputation' across the board? Partypoker/Empire? Pokerstars? Ultimatebet? (I have yet to play at this one... but I know several big-name pros are associated - Helmuth, Seidel, Annie Duke) What are your thoughts?

Playing online you get alot more hands in then you would live. Naturally you'll have more bad beats by playing more hands. Also some players online will suck out on you because after they make bad calls and hit the river, they don't have you staring at them from across the table so there is less embarassment, sometimes they are more inclined to call. I was playing in a home game on saturday and I pushed all in on a bluff. I had nothing (Q5o) , but the turn and river were both 5's and I won the hand. Later I had JJ and pushed all in. One guy called shortstacked with A5s. Both the turn and river were 5's and he won. Running 5's twice in one night seems crazy but I can assure you that my homegame is not rigged. Neither are any online sites. The beats are just as bad everywhere.

Where was that post about why the director of a poker company would want to give up hours and hours to no avail just to rig his poker site's car distribution?

Bad beats are bad beats, in the long run they'll happen as much in live games as online. Trust me on that.

I assume a simple logic here. All of the big rooms are clearing hundreds of millions a year in rake with very little overhead. Their dominant strategy is to do everything to avoid screwing that up.

It isn't rigged, bad beats are everywhere.

I play on PokerStars and each day my goal is to win $50. It's very easy to do...I play Omaha H/L and sit on the $2/$4 tables and do not call until I have A2. I go for the low pot, chances are usually pretty good you'll get it with A2 and some other low cards included.

Make $50 a day by being selective on what you call and how you play...and that's $350 a week. Not bad for sitting on your ass in your spare time playing cards.
