Its the moment that some of us have been waiting for since July....Check N' Raise finally opened up, wooohoooo!!!!.....well, maybe not.
As many people have been talking about, Check N' Raise's arrival have been no less than a flop. Slow software, no downloads, lack of players, all these make us 'professional' online poker players unhappy.
However, don't throw this site aside just yet. There are a lot of good features about this site as well. Multitabling is always a plus, the fish factor isn't too bad (8 people calling a PFR - always a good sign), you can customize your table color, deck color (dozens of designs), you are able to see how many 'Check Points' you have earned while at the table, you can also change where you sit relative to your point of view (vary convenient for us multitablers). Last but not least you cannot forget about the outrageous bonus they are offering. If you preregistered (like i know you did) you get a phat 60% deposit bonus, and even if you havent preregistered you can still get 50% for a limited time.
They are in the process of developing a downloadable version, with that they plan to create a mini-table view for multitabling, CNR is also making their software Apple accessible for all those interested.
To clear their bonuses the only information I could find is that you have to clear 16 Check points per every $ deposited. I dont know if this is correct, but I had to go to the referral section on their webpage to find out and this is the math I did. Check points arent that hard to earn I found in my limited time their so far. I single tabled a full ring .25/.50 for about 20 mins and earned 5 Check Points. You can do the math, but if you were to 3-table a 1/2 game, the hourly Check Point rate would come out to 120 per hour, or about $7.5 an hour in bonus money, just below Absolute's rating.
In conclusion, Check N' Raise is far from the poker room I would like to see, its got a long way to go but it could eventually be a very good site. Back in July, Superior Poker had a consistent player base of 500 on the site at any one time. 4 months later and at the time of this writing they had 2500, competing with Interpoker and Absolute. Give CNR some time, how much? Well, that depends.

I get an invalid security certificate when I go to www.checknraisepoker.com...is that the URL you're referring to?
I know they're new, but an invalid SSL certificate is a bit scary! Is anyone else seeing this or is it just me?

Wow, how strange. I guess it was transient because the certificate seems to be valid now.
It's still scary...

It says on the homepage that they are working on correcting that. I got it too.

I think they are updating Mike, somewhere I read something, but I don't remember.
Did anyone see the latest tally of online players? Saturday Midnight they had 100 total people on playing (it's sad when i count them individually) I was wondering what the current total is.

Check n Raise was gonna come out in July, then Nov, then later in Nov, then they had the date and time, then they pushed back the time, then they opened and they had slow software, then there security certificate was invalid, now they are upand running with some problems.
I expect problems on any new software. But this is kinda ridiculous.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.
