I have been a regular player at pitbull poker and now wanted to cash out some of my money. I contacted their online chat since I had a question regarding their cash out policy. A few minutes after the chat was ended they sent me an email requesting following:
**************************************
In order for your cash out request to be processed, I am going to have to ask for you to confirm some information for us. I would appreciate it if you would cooperate and send us a copy of your photo ID, a scan of the front and back of the credit card used, along with a copy of the completed credit card form. I have attached a link to the credit card form below. Once you have completed these steps you can either fax us at 1-514-221-4659 or you can send this information to me at .....
**************************************
Should I do what they say? Is this even legal to request that kind of information? Anybody got similar response or is it only me?

requests for confirmation of name (e.g. passport) and address (e.g. utility bill) are standard. Did you deposit by credit card? if so then they should already have your credit card details.

Just to let others know, you may want to search out and ask questions regarding poker sites before giving them your money.

Hi all,

I’m Dave and I am the Media Relations Manager for Pitbull Poker and I am not sure if you have completed the cash out with us by now, but I’d like to clarify the situation for everyone.

First, yes we ask for documents and identity proof, and second, yes we are not the only ones who do it. This is due to the fact that fraud can be so high in this industry that verification for such an amount is necessary if we don’t already have the docs at hand, we take these extra precautions to look after our customers.

We are happy to pay you and would prefer to take the secure methods to prevent anyone’s accounts ever being tampered with. We have upgraded our cashier systems to eliminate any difficulty, and today we have one of the most secure and fast payout system of the industry.

Now as for the link that Jyms posted, it was indeed a problematic time for us to get some payouts going, however those issues have been overcome and as Fred posted before, we pay out requests and we always will. We put at your disposal many communication venues, and if you feel one is not working for you then you can always escalate until you get a resolution for your issue.

If any of you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, you can PM me or you can email me to dave @pitbullgaming. com. I am here to hear you (or read you to be more precise ) and bring you solutions.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read me,

Cheers!

Hehehe... No, unfortunately I'm not!

I get that frequently, but no we are not related. There are many people with the Brenes last name in Costa Rica.

Have you ever been to Costa Rica Jack?

I've had to send in copies of my drivers license and cc in the past, which is why I now try to avoid smaller sites and just play on stars/tilt/etc.

Completely understandable, I know it feels like a hassle but after all it is for the protection of the customer's money. Did you have bad experiences sending your docs?

In any case, as better technology becomes available and we grow as a company we will continue upgrading our systems and procedures to ease the transaction process for our players.

We work hard to provide the highest quality products for our community and keep providing a consistent good service. It's a long road but we are thrilled to walk that line with our members and share the success, which is really only accomplished through you guys.

Cheers!

Dave can you explain why Stars and Tilt don't require them?

Hi,

I do not know what systems they use, we only ask for documents when one of our members has made a deposit with a credit card. If stars and tilt have managed to maintain the integrity of their US CC processors without asking for identity proof they probably developed a complex custom security system. Which is great, but also quite expensive; we expect to grow to those levels where we can provide better options for our members.

If you have more questions just shoot them up. Cheers!
