Carbon Poker has a promotion going this month called "Quad Pyramids". Here is the text from the promotion page...

Quad Pyramid Prize

This August, be on the lookout for Quad 5s on the flop. Every time you get this magic hand, you're going to get paid - whether you win the hand or not!

If you flop four 5s (including both of your hole cards), grab the hand number and email support. Your cash prize will depend on your VIP Tier. See below for the chart and payouts.


* Regular: $5
* Earth: $10
* Wind: $15
* Fire: $20
* Water: $25
* Ether: $30

I am personally a little taken aback that they are not only manipulating the RNG, but OFTEN considering the payout structure (more rare more money less rare less money). Given that the prizes are so low for getting quad 5555 with 55 in hand, this must mean they have seriously manipulated the integrity of their RNG.

Does anyone concur? Am I being paranoid about the head scratching preposterousness of this promotion?

Basically they're paying out a small cash bonus on a rare event. This bonus is bigger for the higher volume/stakes players. There doesn't seem to be any suggestion that the likelihood of quad 5s varies between players or games

Pure business I think, you know, like when Coca Cola makes a promotion where you look under a bottle cap and if there is picture of Ferrari you have instantly won one. And suddenly everyone buys 10x more Coke then usually.


Same here, every single player on Carbon will happily run two streets with 55s anytime anywhere thus generating a ridiculous amounts of rake in comparison to number of times quads will be made and reward given.

lol very cheap should be more than 5x also! coupled with the fact you have to email in and it's not an instant bonus this is very lolworthy
