I am a new to bonus whoring, but I find a lot of the promotions are very misleading. I see 100% even 1000% bonuses...but when you break down how many raked hands you need to play...it's NOT worth it. Shouldn't we bee looking at how much of a bonus is earned PER rake??? Who cares about percentages...at Absoulte Poker I get 20%....but as soon as I hit my bonus. I cash out and RELAOD and get another 20%....so I am ALWAYS...ALWAYS playing towards a Bonus...so PERCENT of Bonus should NOT matter. To me Absolute Poker is 100%. I deposit $1000, and receive a 20 % bonus ($200). I then earn $10 per 100 raked hands...do I must play 2000 raked hands. After clearing cash out and reload. So at AP I am making .10 cents per rake.

I see at other the give a bigger percentage BUT you only receive .25 PTS per rake or you need 250 raked hands to earn $10....

So my question is shouldn't we just be looking at how much of a BONUS one is receiving PER rake???

If I am missing something...please help me get on the boat.

If there are any promotions that are paying better than 10 cents per rake (100 raked hands = $10)...please let me know. (I posted about trying BET365 and SportingBet.com ... both are better than the 10 cents per rake...on intial deposit).

Thanks for reading my ramble....and always beware of The Cuyahoga, so bet that TURN HARD.

You make a valid point about cents-per-rake, but there are other variables too.
  • Contributed rake? Not as many opportunities to make cents here.
Minimum table limits for rake? This can make lower limit players very uncomfortable.
Rake level? Does the pot need to reach $2? or $20?
Perhaps cents-per-average-hand would be more valid. Party/skins bonuses at 5x clear quickly, even at 25nl because of their rake definition and levels. In my experience, PP/skins clear fast, even at 10x (10 cents), compared to Absolute. Because of the raked hands definition, more hands get raked at PP/skin at the lowest level, whereas, at Absolute you must move up to the 3rd or 4th level of limits to get raked hands working for you.

Percentages can come into play with bankroll and winning issues. Someone with a $100 bankroll may be excited to see 100% bonus, even if it is a lot of work. Someone with a $2000 BR may not worry about tying up $500 to get $50 on easy terms, so percentage means little to them. A recreational/losing player will want as much matching bonus as possible, so they can play longer (10% just doesn't do the trick for them), but a winning player knows any amount of bonus just adds to the bottom line.

Percentage on bonuses isn't the most important information, but it is important for some players.

eeeee thanks for some more insights. I would like to look into cents-per-average-hand.

as far as Absolute Poker:

contribured rake--You do NOT need to contribute to get credit for a rake.

min table limits for a rake--Must be a rake of 25 cents or more...if you play .50/$1...about 90% of the hands will count. The only ones that don't are usually the ones some one goes ALL IN Pre-FLOP with no calls. But this hand is VERY short...so you still get credit for most rakes while playing if at .50.$1 or higher.

Rake Level--$5 POT or 25 cent rake = 1 raked hand.

Where can I find more information about Party/skins bonuses at 5X??? I would like to compare to AP and consider trying that out.

Thanks for the info.

Not sure if I agree about absolute. I tried to whore it last week. Put in 1K got 500 in bonus. Played at prime time 4-5 pm pst. After 1 hour 3 tabeling two 50s and one 100 I was down $25 and had a wopping 36 raked hands. In the long run I think you end up having to risk way to much to win even $10 as compared to a party bonus where I can clear 200+ hands every two hows four tabeling at 25$ NL where I feel Im the shark not the guppy. I hate playing with scared money. That is a much more +ev situation IMHO.

I never knew absolute had a reload bonus

I know they have a whopping $500 bonus that's cleared the same rate as Paradise (it's a good bonus even if not AS good as the party skins)

But does absolute have reload bonus? What's the code?

For party, u can use the FTR link for 20% up to $100 or use REAL$100 for 50% up to $100.

And for clearing the bonus u just need 0.25 rake: don't bother playing NL - stick to ring game $0.5/$1, play tight aggressive 3 tables and it's the easiest money you can make besides the Party Skins

If you used the FTR search function you'd find a couple codes that have expired now. There may be one out there we don't know about, but generally they hit one a month, but there were two last month. Often there is a warning for the next PP reload when bonus abusers get a bunch of $10 and $20 bonuses in their accounts that they have to work off before receiving the new reload.

EDIT - and to add, if you aren't already with Party, there is the 5x initial bonuses, plus IGMpay and EPASS bonuses. And the PPskins offer 5x to 7x for sign ups.
