I joined Bodog through the FTR link to receive the 110% bonus. I deposited $100 and instantly received $10. The next bonus was to be $40 and awarded when my poker points reached 500.

On 6/28 I reached 500 points so I was expecting the $40 bonus within 24 hours (per the terms on their website). As of yesterday I still had no bonus so I emailed them last night.

I received and email today stating that I had 378 points and not 500. I had bought a $5 bonus with my 500 points so there was no way I had only 378 points. They told me that I received 50 bonus points when I joined and that they did not count towards the bonus as the bonus points must be earned. If that's true then why do I not have 450 points. I also told them that no where in the terms does it state that bonus points do not count as earned points. There is also nowhere on my account to see my "earned points"

500-50= 378 ?

I only have 60 days to earn my bonus and that time is almost up (like tomorrow) No way I can get 120 points playing 5NL in one day.

I'm still in an email discussion with Bodog about this...

Thoughts? Similar experience?

Update: Although not explicitly stated in the terms, bonus points are not earned although you could claim that you earned them by making a deposit. Anyway, after the last email it looks like I only need 11.25 more points to get the bonus.

Someone from FTR admin could probably look into this on your behalf. Because you joined Bodog through the FTR link. Thats how I believe it works.

Sorry so long. Cliffs at end.

As stated above, I needed 11.25 points yesterday to get the $40 bonus. I have been averaging 6-7 points per day so it was going to take a while at 5NL.

Started at 8 cst with 4 tables of 5NL. After 35 minutes I had obtained 2 points. Not good. I have just over 40 BIs for 5NL or 20BIs for 10NL. I had moved up to 10NL previously at 20BIs with the plan to drop down if I lost 5BIs. I lost 4BIs and dropped down.

I decided I would never earn the remaining points at 5NL given the time constraints so I opened 4 tables of 10NL with 20 BIs with the plan to end session if I lost 2.5 BIs. Within 20 minutes I had lost 2 BIs but gained a few points. I started winning small pots and splitting some medium pots gaining a few points along the way. So I turned off the TV and told everybody to leave me alone until I was done. Then I started really focusing and went on a heater. I don't use HM on Bodog cause I'm too cheap to buy a hand grabber so I have to rely on my notes which I had several from my previous shot at 10NL. By the time the session was finished I was up 4 BIs and had earned 23.2 points.

I sent Bodog an email after the session to verify I had earned the required points. I received an email this morning saying my total points was 8. WTF? Sent another email this morning essentially saying WTF?

I was told to call customer service which I did. I was told by CS that I had 378 points. Another WTF? I was put on hold for 10 minutes for "consultation". Remember that the bonus offer ends after 60 days and today is day number 60 and I though I had earned enough points on Tuesday. Rep comes back so I mention the email which said I had 488.75 points and I only needed 11.25. I was put on hold for 10 minutes for another "consultation". Rep comes back and says that I have earned enough points for the bonus and it will be credited to my account tomorrow. I asked "what if it isn't". He said to call back if it doesn't. Then I though he said that a supervisor wanted to talk to me but he must have said do you want to talk to a supervisor (I could hardly understand him anyway) so I said Ok. So he transferred me to a supervisor. After some confusion about who wanted to talk to whom he apologized about different CS reps giving me different points amounts. Evidently some reps can go back further in history than others which is strange since I've only been there 60 days. I asked him what I should do if I don't get the bonus by tomorrow and he said to call and ask for him personally. For all of my troubles he also gave me a $5 instant bonus. Done deal.

Cliffs:
Woohoo got my bonus playing 5NL
No you didn't. You need 11.25 more points
WTF?
I can do that in one day at 5NL
Maybe I can't
Move up to 10NL? Sure. Been there before
Oh shit, down 2 BIs
Holy shit, a heater. Up 6 BIs
Woohoo got my bonus
No you didn't. You need 122 more points
But you said..
Hold please
Ok you got your bonus and here's $5 for your troubles.

Moral of the story: Points ain't Points if they ain't earned Points.
