I did not know this. is this a new thing. It tells me that due to jurisdictional issues they are not allowing new canadian accounts at this time

It's not new. Bodog's founder is Canadian. Just speculating, but I believe they don't allow Canadians as a business precaution to keep him out of any legal quagmires that could arise over internet gaming in his home country.

Hmmm, I didn't know this before (from Calvin Ayre's blog, read if you wanna puke: http://www.calvinayrelife.com/ ):

"Bodog is essentially a brand and we have licensed our brand to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Company who operate on the sovereign land of Kahnawake. All the gaming properties you see branded as Bodog in North America are controlled by Morris Mohawk and this brand licensing deal also gives Morris Mohawk the responsibility of handling any corresponding operations, customer service and marketing responsibilities.

As for gaming properties beyond North America, Bodog’s own headquarters are set up in Antigua and we are licensed in Antigua and the UK which allow us to offer gaming services in Europe and other international markets."
