I am trying to deposit on Bodog as a US resident, but my VISA was declined, so they told me to get a visa gift card -- one that is accepted for international purchases. They won't say a card company. So I was wonder if anyone used a gift card and which company was it? Also when did you deposited?

Can anyone whose had success p.m. me as well if you don't want to say in this thread. A CC seems like the best option but I dunno.

There's also the MyPayLinQ options, but after Netteller, I'm kinda hesitant. Does anyone know if this works (and/or would be wise) for US players? I just want something simple to get the initial deposit in. (I'll expect to w/draw later via checks.) Thanks!

For those interested, I found a Visa Gift Card that works. If you're looking for the same, pm me. I have a the site where you can look up local retailers where they sell them. They seem to be all over the map.

How are the games on Bodog (soft?) and what's the traffic like?

Can't say yet. I plan on playing this weekend but have only poked around, don't really have stats on people yet. From what I can can tell -- meah. Lot's of nits, some idiots. I've heard that it's more bot-infested at the micros than at other levels, but that might not be such a bad thing.

A few sucky things I've noticed already which I knew about going into it: you can only multitable FOUR at a time. (Wtf, right? Don't they want traffic & rake? Weird.) Also, you can't tile those four tables which can be a bit of a drag. And there's no auto-rebuy!

I'll chime in about it next week I'm sure. Cheers.

I suck at poker and I'm winning so far. I think there certain times of the day I would avoid. But then again I'm more into betting the NBA and video poker on bodog. And on side note my visa from amazon worked rigt away im in Cali.

I've been at Bodog since May 2, 2011. Used visa with no probs. I got 50% of the 110% bonus but I only deposited $100.

Bodog Negs
-no more than 4 tables ***
-no auto rebuy
-All micro tables are shown at once (no way to filter for just 5NL,10NL, etc or just show full tables or empty tables)
-Very few 10NL tables compared to 5NL and 25NL and lots of short stackers
-Mostly regs at tables
-You can't use HEM or PT without buying handgrabber software for $50 which I haven't done and prob won't for a while.

Bodog Pos'
-Lots of fish at 5NL
-Alot of the regs at 10NL are fish
-110% bonus with 10% instant
-Since you can't use PT or HEM you are forced to take notes. Initially I thought this was a neg but now think it's a pos.

*** I talked to a supervisor on the phone about a bonus issue and told him that it sucks that you can only play 4 tables. He said it's a server and bandwidth issue only and it will eventually change.

Pretty sure you can email a special person and get it bumped to 6 but I wish they'd cap it @ 4 for everyone.

What is the status of Bodog for US players?
The FTR link isn't working.

Bodog still accepts US players, however due to reasons beyond our control we are not able to promote them at this time.

Totally agree w/ all of these, fwiw. 4 tables & rebuy are the biggest drag, and I'm not sure either will change. But you actually CAN use PT3. There's a built in hand grabber that works fine for me. Check out the PT config instructions.

Actually, I've read on their 2+2 thread that it's more of a "business decision" on their part. They don't want to attracts multitable regs bc they want the fish to keep sticking around ... which honestly makes very little business sense to me.

Really?!? lolzzz_321: you're saying they make exceptions if you just ask? Can you (or anyone) confirm this? This sounds sooo strange -- but awesome if it's true.

anyone have any experience with cashouts? and just wondering how tough are they about verifying your identity? do they need you to scan your ID and utility bill or something? I heard they required that from someone before they tried to deposit
