So i'm moving my pacific cash to pokerstars, with the intent to open a new account on pacific at a later date (once i'm 18).

What do think of the pokerstars low stakes players?? I've heard that pokerstars tends to have more weak tights. Is this true in the NL25 and NL50 games (both full ring and 6 max)?

Also, I'll be moving $500 over there and hope to get that to $1000 within 3-4 weeks, is that a legitimate goal?

You're going from Pacific to Pokerstars? Isn't that like going from high school baseball to the majors? Pacific is the fishiest site out there, and Stars is the least fishy. You might experience a downswing if you expect to be payed off as much as you once were on good hands.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I'm aware that it is different, thats why i asked about the players on there. But i doubt i hit a downswing, atleast not a severe one. I want stay at pacific but other reasons make this not wise, so stars is the easiest option for me, money transfer wise that is.

The vast majority of my online poker has been played at PokerStars so I don't know how the players stack up against those from other sites. But i will say, it's not hard to win at 25 NL if you know a thing or two about odds, and how to play position. If you were a consistent winner at another site, you are probably good enough to make whatever adjustments necessary (if any) to win at PokerStars 25NL too.

I didnt become a winning(profitable) player until I moved to Stars(25NL)......but that was also about the time I grew a pair and started playing the player, not the cards(obviously sometimes you gotta have the cards to back it up). I lost a good chunk of change at Pokerroom, I have gone back to pokerroom also and am now recovering some of my losses.

Lower stakes Stars is very tough, it plays like 200 NL on Party often. On the bright side, itll improve your game immensly.
BR now: $106900
Playing now: $10/10/20 - $20/40 NL live, $10/20 NL full ring online, $10/20 NL 6-max online, $20/40 FL 6-max online, $100/200 FL live
Goal: $125000 for $25/50 NL live

You serious? I've found 25 NL on stars to be a cake walk. I'm getting ready to move up to 50 NL on stars, but maybe i should head to 100 NL on party

From someone who play limit, I can't stand to play at stars. If you want to win the most money in ring games, stars is not the place to do it.

The only time I load up the PS software is when I need a change and want to play a cheap MTT or SNG. There is just too many other very profitable places to play to waste your time at stars.

I personally went to stars to pick up the bonus, which I did and made a small profit. I had relative success playing 0.5/1 and 1/2 fixed limit ring game using LAGGy or TAGGy depending on the circumstances;

don't expect to get paid off like in pacific, but you will find youself dragging more pots in. Blind steals are a must.

Incidentally, I have had success everywhere (Paradise, Prima, Party, Stars) EXCEPT for Pacific

Looking at your bankroll, and how long you've played over so many sites.. i'd say the limited sucess there is due to not enough play, its a high variance game.

Cheers for the advice everyone

Actually played a while on Pacific: trying to clear the bonus (i broke even and ran away real fast).

I think it SEEMS longer 'cos u can't multitable

But yeah, I'm relatively new to online poker. Point is, if *I* can make money @ Stars, then it can't be very hard

I find the players at stars much easier to beat than party, they are more passive, you can pretty much tell exactly what they have because they never bluff raise/re-raise. I have progressed from 50NL to 100NL and am just starting 200NL, i cleared 3 bonuses of 120 at stars and made 720 profit, it took a while but i don't play poker that often. I don't know how stars 25 compares to anywhere else because i skipped it but i doubt it's that hard.

I figured it was time to branch out from PokerStars so I went over to Paradise to check it out. I only spent about 4 hrs playing there but the players seemed about the same. Maybe a tad fishier but the slowness of the games/tables meant I could earn more or at PokerStars. The software sucked bad. The first night I played, their server crashed and was down for several hrs. When I did get in I was disconnected several times and the software was so sluggish I couldn’t stand it. Anyway, from what I could tell the players seemed *about* the same.
Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL
