Hey everyone,

Is it just me or does Absolute Poker have an incredible amount of bad beats when playing with real money? It seems that even with their 200% bonus going on right now and playing $1/$2 limit, it's impossible to actually be in the money! I've heard other people say the same so I recently sent the following email to them and will post their reply once i get it. Anyone else here getting a high amount of bad beats (i.e. rivered) when playing there?

Serge

------------------

Hello Emmanuel,

Thank you for your offer but myself and other people have some major concerns about the integrity of the AbsolutePoker software. So far, I have deposited a total of $400 (2 deposits of $200 each) and even with the 200% bonus promotion, it has been next to impossible to actually win some money due to the amazing level of bad beats everyone has been getting! Losing over $500 playing $1/$2 and 50c/$1 limit regular live poker games would be next to impossible so how could this happen when playing online at AbsolutePoker? Has testing actually been done on the random card generator to ensure game integrity and how can we be assured that nothing is being done in order to keep the money on the table as much as possible in order to artificially generate rake? Would it be possible to examine the server's source code or at least know what formula is used for randomly selecting cards in order to ensure nothing is happening? I am an active poster on several poker forums and many people agree with me so we deserve to at least have some assurance AbsolutePoker can be trusted. I will be writing an article soon so please provide the requested information ASAP. Finally, what advantages does a certified account have over a non certified account and why wasn't this information requested when the account was first opened?

Regards,

Serge

When I played at Absolute I didn't notice an unusual amount of bad beats.

I pretty much live at AP.

"This site sucks" and "Only on Absolute" are said at least once a session... but everyone thinks THEIR site is rigged.

Really? So why did they close my account after I sent them the above email?

Thanks for your questions and concerns regarding Absolute Poker.

Here at Absolute Poker we take pride in providing a safe and fair poker experience. Our hands are 100% randomly generated with NO extra protocols to change the settings, there are no bots, shills, or spyware at Absolute Poker.

We have recently had our random hand generator re-certified with Technical Systems Testing, a certified, independent, North American, evaluation laboratory.

We also hold a license with Six Nations, the Internet Gaming Regulatory Body.

Open this link and click the “submit” button for details:

http://www.snigrb.com/cgi-bin/verify...e=5GR74YDCS2T8

Please also see the link here regarding the fact that at Absolute Poker you only play with 100% real live players:

http://www.absolutepoker.com/supportTeamabsolute.asp

Please note that live poker and online poker are significantly different, especially the number of hands that you can play in a day. Remember, if you play a lot of hands per day, as a result, you will see many hands you wouldn't normally see in a live poker game, and you will also go through what may seem as "bad beats".

Since the game is played at a much faster pace, the periodic cycles or patterns that you would observe in a game would also be proportionally faster. So the frequently reoccurring combinations are representative of a result of the rate of play, which might probably simulate an impression of more bad beats than actually might occur.

Usually Online Poker involves playing with more opponents that play a loose game. This means that there are more people seeing the river card, often with inferior hands. The more people who see the river, the more often a miracle card would seem to hit the river. You'll win a lot of money from these players in the long run, but in the short time, it might appear that the odds are against you.

Furthermore, the anonymity of online poker players allows them to be more daring (and sometimes even play bad), as they don't have to sit in front of their peers and colleagues and justify calling bets with really bad cards. I can assure you that in the long run; the good players make the money.

At Absolute Poker we take great pride in the honesty and fairness of the games we host. To ensure total fairness to each and every player on our tables, our software operates with a Random Number Generator system. This system operates at the highest level of encryption and randomness, to ensure fairness without exception. This is the system that shuffles the decks and deals the cards, so that all players have the same likelihood of getting any one card.

Also, please keep in mind that our site does not benefit from any players winning or losing. In fact, we would like all our players to win all the time and be happy on our tables, but that is obviously not possible. Poker is primarily a game of skill, but since luck is also involved, there will be times when you will get a bad run of cards. It is not possible for us to manipulate the outcome of the games, and even if it were, we would not indulge in any activities that would compromise our integrity.

A good random number generator is one that generates numbers that are:

*Evenly distributed, and not related to each other in any way

*Unpredictable

There is no deck of cards that is shuffled as thoroughly as the Absolute Poker algorithm shuffle. Each game, the deck is shuffled 10 times with each shuffle moving each card somewhere between 1 and 51 times throughout the deck (10 passes at Knuth's full shuffle algorithm). It is absolutely fair and unpredictable.

I can understand your frustration, being a poker player myself. We spent a lot of time and resources dedicated to ensuring the integrity of Absolute Poker. Our shuffling system has been audited by an independent accounting firm and has been deemed infallible. In order to protect our players, we frequently review the shuffling system to maintain its accuracy and to monitor its security. The integrity of a poker room (particularly online) is absolutely necessary for success. It is of paramount importance to us for our system to be true and correct. We assure you that it is.

Please understand that we did everything in our power to help you and make you understand that this is a regular procedure in our site, now you've become a high risk player to our site and we don't feel safe having you as one of our customers. We came to the conclusion of closing up your account with no option of ever re-opening it. We hope you understand that your business is no longer welcome here. We are very sorry for the drastic measures that we have been forced to take.

Please feel free to contact us back if you have any further questions or comments.

Kind Regards,

Emmanuel

That Absolute-bashing site makes my blood boil. I hope Absolute's lawyers are on to it. One post in particular had figures that were wrong by a factor of roughly 200,000!

The only positive that comes out of this kind of thread is the proof that there are people who are dumb enough to believe poker's rigged. I want to play against these guys

I took $800 in two weeks from Absolute players who thought the site was rigged. No joke. The cards seemed normal to me. Maybe this thread is rigged.

Allow me to make an observation and maybe this'll strike a cord.

You are trying to convince yourself that the poker room is the reason you are not winning. Is it possible that you are the reason you're not winning?

Do you want us to tell you you can't win or do you want us to teach you how to win?

I would like to revise my stance. Absolute is rigged when you play it while drinking Absolute Vodka. I overlooked that. My 22 got cracked by AA. FUCKING BULLSHIT!

Maybe because you e-mailed them saying their site was bullshit and you were going to go flame their business on forums and in articles. Honestly, was there anything they could of said to you that would convince you their site was fair?
