Absolute Poker is offering a 35% bonus up to $210 (that would be a $600 deposit) for first time deposits made in July. You need to play 10 raked hands (rake > $0.25) per bonus dollar, and the bonus is released in $10 increments.

I've been playing there a few days. Level of play is not too bad, the players at the low limits are suprisingly tight but passive. If you hate bad beats, this might be the site for you. In a few hundred hands, I've seen it folded around to the blinds at least a dozen times. The tables only seat 9, and the games can tend to break up in the early afternoon. There aren't that many tables per level available for play.

The interface is a little busy, but not too bad. I hate that the no limit slider doesn't allow you to type in the amount of your bet. Also, I haven't figured out how to auto muck uncalled hands (there's a checkbox for mucking losing hands, but not uncalled hands? WTF?), which is a bother. You can add a personal avatar (one of Toasty's clowns, perhaps?), if that kind of think floats your boat. Poker Tracker can import AP hand histories, which is a definite plus.

I haven't tried to cash out yet, but I'll report back in a week or so when I've built up my bankroll there.

Sorry if this has been posted already, but I thought you guys might like to get in on the bonus.

Be careful I played there last month, there are very few games. only about 2000 - 3000 players. So it is hard to get enough raked hands.
Holy crap I cant play against Yoda!!

Yeah, it's been a real grind so far. At least the rake only has to be $0.25, making it possible to clear even at the $0.25-$0.50 tables, where there seems to be more players. Pretty easy to do without really risking your deposit, but it's not much fun.

One big problem is that the tables break up so rapidly. You can go from a full table to 5-6 players in a flash.

If you PM me I will give you a least of some of the sharks that you could try to avoid, though I played mostly 2/4, 3/6, 5/10.

They have all the games, but I will let Koolmoe do the review because he wrties so much more better than me. hehe. My only real problem with the place is that there are so few players, finding a good table is hard. You may have only 2 NL going at any one time. Same applies to limit games, and if play late into the evenings as I do, there is only one table at times. Im sure they are doing this promotion now to increase their traffic though. I think the interface is pretty good very similar to pokerstars if you ask me, maybe a little better. Tyson if you or Xianti can put a Absolute players notes in the FTR area, I would put my pokertracker data on the players in there.

Like scgolfer said, they have all the typical games. Limit and NL Hold 'em, Omaha, Omaha H\L, 7CS, 7CS H\L, and tournaments (There's a guaranteed $10K tourney tonight for $20 buy-in, I think - I'll be interested to see how many register for it. Could be easy money.). The main lobby lists the % of players seeing the flop at a table as well as the average pot size. Most of the full tables (9 players) average around 35% of players seeing the flop - only 3 per hand!

What is interesting to me is that there seems to be a bit more action at the higher stakes limit games than I would have expected. There's relatively more action at the lowest limits (like 0.25/0.50) as well. In the small stakes mid-range (2/4 or 3/6 limit) the action is limited, and a higher percentage of the players seem to know what they're doing. Some of them I recognize from another popular forum...

One real bonus to the NL tables, IMO is that the max buy-in is twice as big as it is at Party and affiliates. One disadvantage is that there will often be 2 or 3 very small stacks (<$10) at these tables. This is part of the reason the games break up so easily, I think.

All-in-all, I've had a pretty good experience there. If it weren't for the huge, relatively easy to collect bonus, I'd probably just find a softer game. When you add in the bonus, which you can collect playing at close to the lowest limits, it's very high expected value, and a good way to build a bankroll with almost no risk. Try finding a bank that will give you a 35% return on $600 in less than a month!

So I looked tonight at the Omaha and 7CS lobbies, and there is literally no one playing. There are a few at the high/low games, but really none to speak of.

The $10K guaranteed tourney is a $15+1 buy in. There are 327 registered with 45 minutes until start time, so I don't think it will be such a great bargain after all.

Once I clear my bonus, I probably won't play at Absolute Poker anymore.

I've been playing at Absolute for a little bit. Along with Party. Absolute has been somewhat profitable for me. Alot of the action that goes on there can be found in the tourneys. The SNG's are almost always filled. As well as the MTT's. Like Ultimatebeat, they too have a point system in which you earn points for raked hands played. Which can be used as buyin's for their Absolute Point Tournaments. Most tourneys start with 1500 in chips. Which is a bit much for SNG's to me. (I'm so used to Party's quick play.)

The one thing I can say about Absolute is that it is very flush and straight friendly. So watch out. Forget about any other games besides Hold'em, as they are non-existant.

I agree with Koolmoe. Their interface is very pleasing. The blue is easy on the eyes, and you can add a personal avatar a la Pokerstars. And their action buttons are big and easy to read.

Using Neteller, I have never had a problem cashing out at Absolute. My money is in the account in 1 or 2 days. There are worse places one could play. I'm not sure how much longer I'll play at Absolute, but I cannot say that I have been dissatisfied with them either.

Big Lick
