10 players remaining, 7-paid.
villain showed up at my table 3 hands ago, but I have stats on him from other tournaments. He's 18/11 over 88 hands.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 12 Tournament, 400/800 Blinds 50 Ante (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
BB (t5325)
Hero (UTG) (t10425)
MP (t9730)
Button (t4020)
SB (t38000)
Hero's M: 7.19
Preflop: Hero is UTG with A , K
Hero bets t2000, MP calls t2000, 2 folds, BB calls t1200
Flop: (t6650) Q , J , A (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, MP bets t3200, 1 fold, Hero folds
What do you all make of his bet size? It pot commits him. I put him on AQ or AJ but you'd think that those hands would check this flop. AK shoves over a bunch of the time.
(note: this table was pretty tight which was why I was only raising 2.5xbb.)

shit...
What is his range here? This hand put me completely out of it for some reason.
Here is my thought process.
First, there aren't many hands that I would call off with for a quarter of my stack with, knowing that I have to play post flop. SCs and small pairs have no implied value. Middle pairs, I have before this before, probably incorrectly. TT, JJ, yes. Finished monsters, rarely. AQ, AJ, AK... I'm dumb-founded. And then the BB gets in on the action too; he's short so he could be preparing to stop and go with all sorts of hands.
On this flop, I'm entirely lost given pf action and stack sizes. I check. If I bet, I will not get value out of weaker hands, Qx Jx or Ax. perhaps, I could protect TPTK? The primary hands that call/stay are AQ, AJ, QJ, KT, JJ, QQ. Smaller pairs would check behind. Plus, if I even put out a half-pot bet, half of my stack would already be in the pot.
Then he bets for half of his stack and I'm bummed and confused (even more)...
In short, I don't know how to think about this hand on the flop.

Bet flop, as played, call or push, I may be off a little but certainly better than check/fold as though you didn't have TPTK.
