$5/$5 blinds $1k buy-in cap.

I get moved to the main game with ~$1.5k
Player to my left looks strong and has over $4k

I open 88 UTG for $20
UTG+1 calls.
Everyone else folds.

Flop is

I bet $30, UTG+1 calls.

Turn is :Tc:

I check, UTG+1 bets $60, I think it over and call.

River is :Qc:

I check, UTG+1 bets $130. I kiss one white and six red then toss them into the pot....

Wait, whites are $100 in Cali?

Not to be results oriented, but I want results. I think you took down Mr. Olympia's whiffed overs, but what do I know?
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

I think he read me for weak. Sent a pretty clear message not to float me.

I have trouble projecting weakness when overs come on my mid pps. Then I just knee-jerk call cuz I assume they're picking on my weakness...

I was commenting more on his preflop call tho. pretty damned loose cold call UTG+1.

Deep money and he thought he could out-play me. Also, live players don't 3-ball good ranges pre-flop.

I was originally thinking low PP but I can't figure why he wouldn't check back the river w/showdown value. I guess maybe he's smart enough to know he's behind after your turn call, but thinks another barrel will get you off your hand.

Same sitch w/ JJ, do you 2 barrel?

Oh yeah, and how quick did you check the river? Feign weakness?
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

He obviously has never heard of the legendary Fnord.

A fool and his monies are easily parted I hear...

So after a passive play like that, how does one get away with a three street value line later?

Given my range and line so far, I think a river bet would look really silly/weird.

Also:
Very few hands in his range were helped by the Queen.
I don't think he's sick enough to value bet Tx for more than a big white chip.

I was not suggesting that you bet the river. I was asking about your action/acting to induce a river bet if that even was a goal. I would go with the old stare him down check to feign like I want a check behind.

Also would you double/triple barrel JJ here?

bet, bet, check is a pretty standard line for me with JJ here. Certainly against the usual sorts who call too much and won't bluff big very often.

I thought a lot of his range was floats, enough money is behind to really hate a turn raise and I wanted to send a little message that I'm a stubborn SoB.
