Who was the guy that built his own pokertable in here?
With a URL to an explanation on how he did it, blueprints, materials etc?
I'm a little into building table myself this summer, but I can't find that link anymore...
Please post the URL if you've got it...

I made my own poker table but I didn't put together a web site. I designed my table in a very similar fashion to this table (which is linked from Home Poker Tourney): http://www.junell.cc/pokertable/
The only modification that I made to that plan was that I only used two pieces of plywood instead of three. This causes the baseboard to be set back from the edge of the table by 4" all around. Also, instead of using bolts to secure the table top to the baseboard we used wood screws.
Here a picture of my poker table: http://members.shaw.ca/khabbi/pokertable/table2.jpg

I built a poker table, but I don't have pictures of it. I looked at the tables on homepokertourney.com and got a good idea of what I wanted to do.
Mine isn't real fancy, but it is nice enough and works well for me. It was also very easy to make.
Basically, I got a 4' x 8' piece of 3/4" MDF wood from Home Depot. I measured up 24 inches from each end, found the center point, and drew an arc. Then used a jig saw to make the board an oval shape instead of a rectangle.
Then I went to an auto upholstery shop and got 1/4" closed cell foam. I glued it to the wood and then cut off the remainding edges to make it flush with the wood.
Next I went to Hobby Lobby and got my cloth. I used powder blue Velveteen fabric. It works really well, the cards slide across it very nicely. I had my fiance help me keep the fabric tight while I glued it to the foam. Then I stretched it around to the bottom of the table top and used lots and lots of staples to attach the felt.
I then went to a lumber yard and got five pieces of 4" x 4" wood cut down to 28 inches. This is basically the wood that you would use as fence posts for a wood fence, and they work well as my legs. I put one leg on each corner and then one in the middle of the table for support. I just used wood glue and glued the legs to the underside of the table top.
My last touch was to get cup holders. I went to Wal Mart and got those plastic cup holders that you slide down into the window of a car. They sell them in four packs for two or three dollars. Very cheap, but very effective. I then used small wood screws to screw the cup holder to the underside of the table. They are out to the side of each player, and it keeps everyones drinks off the table.
The whole project cost me about $100, not too bad. And once you have all the materials, the table can be completed in a day or two and that is only because you have to wait for the glue to dry.

That's a really nice table. How much did it run you?

I should have kept better track - somewhere around $300. I have some photos of the construction too...

The rope lights: routed BEFORE cutting out main rail piece. It just adds a space for the lights under the rail...

Sorry for the massive photos.

I have actually considered building these with the intent of selling them. This would probably be a summer project, I'm pretty busy right now. But yeah, if I do start making more of these I'll let you know.
