Does anyone know what happened to the Kem factory? Most of the sights that i look on are out of stock or only have the ones with the ducks and the dogs on the back in bridge size. Regular index poker size arrow? forget about it. anyone know what the deal is or have any links to a conversation about it. anything would be appreciated.

Yeah. They're hard to come by now. Still some left on eBay, but I believe their factory has stopped producing them. I don't know any more than that.

the only thing that i have heard is two different rumors.

1. they moved their factory to a new location over the summer. now, it takes three months to complete one batch of cards which means even if they didn't finish moving until august, there would be new decks coming onto the scene about now.

2. they were bought out by another company who either did number 1, or they closed them down to redo their entire process or closed them down outright.

i tend to believe number one, because why would anyone mess with the best of the best, but you never know what some idiots are capable of. i just hope we see some more out there soon.

they have been moved and will be producing cards for casinos in the near future, but for consumers, the estimated wait time is approx 6 months before new cards will be produced

i just got 2 decks about a week ago, they are pretty damn nice

Ebay is the only place to get the real wide Kem cards. I was told the #1 rumor in July. They told me I would have to wait until September to buy. I did, and still am. Local dealer. So instead his 13.00/pack I have to pay 18.75$ plus 2.00 s/h. He told me Kem was bought out. The name of the store is Napoleans in Milwaukee WI. Good luck finding some, let us know if you do. Thats how I found this board... ...

I was looking at my KEM cars the other day and I noticed some "defects" on the backs. I'm sure it was just printing error, but at first I thought they were marked! I examined the entire deck in close detail and couldn't really find a coherent pattern of marking, but I thought it was weird. Anyone else notice anything like that on theirs?

what kind of kems were they. i took a look at my two decks and couldn't find anything readily visible. i know that there are people who sell marked kem decks, but if there is no pattern, that couldn't be it. all the more reason that the factory should open back up and make some more cards for all us true poker players.

I bought some a couple months ago. They have no printing problems, but the plastic itself feels grainy. My two decks are the only KEMs that I have ever felt with this grainy feeling. I dont really care, because they are still 1000x better than any paper cards.
Is that guy still part of the forum??

when i first opened all of my kems, they had that grainy feel, kinda cool i thought. but after a few nights of play, that wears off. i think it's there to allow a small amount of air to get in between the cards when they are packages so they don't stick? but that's just a guess. if you don't like it, don't worry, it will go away.
