Does anyone know any means to find live poker tournaments in the Tampa area??? Websites, Newsletters, anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Google is probably your best bet, but I doubt you'll find any real money cash/tournaments posted there. You might be able to find a forum or two that deals with your area that can ultimately lead you to a few real money games in your town...

More than likely, though, you'll find information about those free poker tournaments held in sports bars or pool halls. In Kansas City we have two different leagues (at least), the Amatuer Poker League and the Sports Bar Poker League (or something like that). There are like two places you can go each night that have drink specials and two tournaments. You show up, register (for free), and then play in a 50-60 person freeze-out style tournament. Prizes usually go out to the top three (and sometimes the entire final table), and they can sometimes be cool. They're pretty lame to go to, though. The poker sucks (half the people take it way too seriously, the other half don't take it seriously enough).

I went and played one time and that was enough for me. (on a side note, I got to the final table in one of the tournaments and won a full free hour of pool, WOOT WOOT...yeah, depending on the place, sometimes the prizes REALLY suck)

Going to these, though, you'll be able to meet people that could possibly have real money home games.

oh... is Ceelo asking about cardrooms or home games? If it's the latter, this topic should go in the Home Games and Gear forum.
