There's a player on absolute who is plays WAY above his level, has hardly any skills (i'm starting to wonder if he even knows which hands beat which) and is an utter maniac. He's pretty well known, at least at the SNG level I am playing at. His play as so bad, that for the longest time, I thought it was a hustle, and he was throwing away his money at some smaller tables to draw action when he buys in on a larger one, but no, he throws his money away there too.

Anyway, I was wondering, since he's got to be in 9 out of 10 buddy lists, if it would be wrong of me to, um, appropriate his username on another site (assuming he's not playing there already) with a bunch of overlap in the players, throw out a few maniac hands, and then rake in the bucks?

It seems like it could be a moneymaker, but it also seems more like a hustle than earning my money. What do you guys think?

I vote for SG. May I suggest a poll?
What's the difference between a large cheese pizza and a poker player?

A large cheese pizza can feed a family of four.

I think that's a great idea, but who the hell cares about SNGs? He's just one player out of nine. I don't see how his shitty play gives you any significant advantage in the tourney. It makes it equivalent to nine people playing an unraked tourney. Big deal.

Of course it is my opinion that SNG players are the lower echelon of poker players anyway.

"Ya I play online poker, I play $5 SnGs at Stars. I do really well too. I finish in the money half the time."

"So what you're saying is you play two hours to win an average of ten dollars of which only $4.50 is profit?"

"Ya I guess".

"Every tried ring?"

"Ya. I got torched. I'll stick to my SnGs".

"Yep, have fun with the two bucks an hour."
Light years ahead of the competition.

Oh, you are so right. He's a brilliant guy to have at your table at a sit and go. Really, I couldn't be happier to see him sign up. But if I pull off this evil scheme, it would have to be at ring games.

As far as STT's goes, to each his own. But then I'm not a $5 party player either.

This is utterly pointless. The players who would try to get in a game wit ha fish are NOT the players that you want to be playing against.
Your question is effectively "I thought of a way to get a bunch of rounders to follow me around so even if I do find a good table I know a shark will show up to crush me" Should I do it y/n?
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

except you would bet your top 2 pair and the shark would call expecting you to turn over anything from a set to A high. I think its a good idea but it wouldnt work for very long before the sharks realise that you have 'improved' since changing sites.

that's what I was thinking.
Been playing money poker for 34 years and decided in 2002 to try that TX Holdem game on TV. Then found Pokerstars in Summer 2005. Still not an overall winner but i am on a good trend and nearly there.
