i went to Harrahs New Orleans first time this past weekend and the rake the 1/2NL was $12 an hour. They didn't take the rake per hand but took $6 at every 1/2 hr dealer change. Is it just me or does this sound like a break even game long term at best? I have well under 5k hands live experience however so i have no idea what kind of win rate is achievable at most 1/2 brick and mortar games. ideas?

Do they have a bigger game with a similar drop?

That said, this game is certainly beatable.

it depends on how soft those live games in your local card room are.
my 1/2 NL live win rate in the last two years has been about :
weekdays: $22-30 per hour
weekends: $35-50 per hour
So these conservative win rates are certainly achievable assuming that you play tight aggressive games and rarely go on tilt.

Same thing at Horseshoe Indiana....$6 per person per half hour. I hate time rake but it is beatable because the play is pretty bad. They also have 2/5NL which is a bit tougher but makes the rake more reasonable.
