In Manchester you have the choice of two casinos, the Grosvenor in Salford or the Stanly Circus in town. I don't know the schedule at the Stanley, but the Grosvenor has tournaments every night of the week except Saturday, where you can go in and hire private tables for £3/hr.
Both tend to be Pot Limit Rebuys, although there is a £50 freezeout once a month which I am thinking of having a go at soon.
If anyone's in Manchester drop me an email

The Grosvenor (Empire Street) in Cheetham Hill, has the same. However they do a freeroll tourney on a Wednesday. £150 for 1st place, no 2nd or 3rd place prize. On the plus side they start £5 SnG games for players who get knocked out.
I have not been myself; but a few guys from my work have been. Hoping to lose my B&M cherry on the' 26th (after pay day )

Is there anything in Edinburgh? I'm up there on business at the beginning of next month and wouldn't mind a chance to flex my poker muscles...

Just spoken to the man at the Stanley Berkley Casino in Edinburgh.
They do Hold 'Em Tournies during the week and, with any luck, I shall be playing in the Monday £10 rebuy one. They do them on other days of the week (Weds and Fri too I think) but I shall confirm that when I get hold of fliers and complete the report.
They also do a £30 freeze-out once a month (the bloke said something about first saturday, but I could be making that up).
Membership/registration is required, but turning up before the tourney with a photo-ID is enough. No sportswear is about the only dress requirement, so smart jeans and a polo shirt are all good. Just no football/rugby shirts or trackies.
More info when I get back!
