Im considering a visit to our first poker dedicated venue in nottingham sometime over the next 8-12 weeks.
Im in south yorkshire so its a quick journey for me on the train.
Anybody fancy meeting up to pwn some fish?

Just looked @ the site, looks decent.. although a £100 tourney is a bit much for me

Yeah I'm there anytime, after christmas is probably best, but whenever.
Ill be driving down I think so no drinking in Nottingham for me either.
I intend on visiting dtd regularly, but as I've never played live I think ill w8 till the FTR meet before going first!

I concur. Thursday 24th January 2008 or any following Thursday will work best for me, as I'd need time to book a hotel room and all that shit if I were to go (long trek up from Kent).

Ok then we need a date to set.
Im busy (well im supposed to be anyway) at work all January, so all ill need to do is book the weekend off.
From what i understand, theres a travel lodge nearby that we can book into so hotels should be fine.

Hold the phone a second. After deciding it is realistic that I can do this, I had a look at my diary, and I have an exam on Weds 23rd Jan, and Fri 25th Jan, which kinda makes 24th Jan out of the question to go to Nottingham, as these are exams I intend to pass
I am definitely free on Thurs 31st Jan though.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Assuming we stay there till it closes at 6, I could probably get a train heading towards Kent then, and just sleep on the train or something.

so i get back from new year and find were going on the 31st
Im coming from the north, club opens at 6pm so im likely to be there at opening time travelling from about an hour away.
Ill probably have a donk in the torny but i truly suck so cash games for me!

Ill probs have to meet you there cuz i'm bringing a mate who finishes work @ 5pm, then he'll get train from halifax to huddersfield where ill meet him then get train to nottingham, so ill probs get there @ like 6.30 or so..
