$10/$20 uncapped 6 handed. The uber-donator just cashed out. Still lots of soft spots but it's no longer a lottery.

My opponent in this hand has been splashing around with a lot of small to medium bets and raises to push around the table. Last time he defended his BB vs me he check/raised me on a paired board to take it down. He's also up at least $4k on the night.

This isn't my usual game, but I'm a regular at the Casino. He might put me on scared money.

I have $2300 my opponent has over $6k

I raise :Qd: to $70, BB defends.

Check, I bet $90 (same be he jamed last time), he calls

He donks out $160...


I don't think he's strong here, do I tarp to induce a river blocker/stab/bluff? That said, I'd hate to show him that I won't raise him with the nuts on a congested board as it would be license to stab at me all night and discredit re-bluffs at him.

So I re-raise to $600....

im raising here everytime. not for metagame reasons, but there is too much value to be lost if you dont bloat the pot now imo.

But there isn't alot of value in raising if he is just going to fold.

If you truly believe he is weak and just has a medium ace or pair w/ a draw or bluff, than I like the call to gain value from river bluffs and rivered two pair/trips betting for value.

I usually ask myself if a bluff would work in this situation. If it would, than i go for the call instead of the raise.

I like a smooth call, then let him bluff out or make a semi good hand on the river. then min raise him on the river so sick!

No offense intended, but that line sucks at maximizing value with the nuts.

I would raise turn & I like Fnords bet size. It looks like you want to end the hand now. I can see the villain pushing over OOP or folding if he was giving up on the river anyway.
If you must slow the turn by calling then I jam river and hope for the hero call as long as the board doesn't pair. MR river sux with the nuts.

I think you played it well.

I'd put him on a ATo+ hands or JT, QT, KT, TT.

So let's say he has one of the suggested hands. He hit a pair, or 2 pair, or even flopped trips so he called your 3/4 pot size bet trying to pull you into the hand and extract the money from you.

You hit the nuts on the turn, so he, thinking you might be on a draw, or allready finished drawing bets the turn.

Your raise is pretty good, you don't want him to catch some wild full house on the river. Or, in the villains eyes your raise might look like you're trying to steal the pot with no hand. Anyway, the raise is good and can leave the villain in doubt, which is good for you.

My 2 cents.

I'm the stabby player at the table usually

I generally like to make smaller raises IP. If you make it $600 you're pretty much forcing him to make a decision for his whole stack right there. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing.

I wouldn't want to put $600 in on a bluff here, $400 on the turn and $700 on the river will get him to fold his weak hands and missed draws.

You didn't mention your position which has a big importance in this hand as always.
