I'm going to Tunica this weekend Friday through Sunday to try to find some juicier than normal cash games since the WSOP is concluding down there soon with the Championship event starting Monday. On a much smaller scale, are the games a lot better there now just as they are in Vegas during the WSOP? I've only been to Tunica a couple of times and played @ Hollywood. Are there other casinos that will be better? Does everyone have more games going on? I'm only planning to play $1/$2 NL but I guess I might consider $2/$5 NL if it was a really good game. Any general advice on going to Tunica during this time would be appreciative as it relates to cash games no limit lower stakes.

Ah well, I guess I'll just drive or call down there and see where the games are and report back later for future reference if anyone is interested.

Oh yeah, I meant to follow-up on this. Because my live bankroll is low, I only wanted to play $1/$2 or possibly $1/$3 tops. I called down before I went to various casinos to get an idea of how many no limit tables were going on and Harrah's appeared to be the nuts as far as that was concerned, which makes sense because they were hosting the WSOP. The only downside was that they had $1/$3 instead of $1/$2 but I felt that it was worth the small risk since they had more tables and hopefully more fish.

I showed up that morning and found a loose table of $1/$3 going on and luckily picked up a couple of hands to take advantage. As I cashed out to take a lunch break, Jamie Gold was standing near the cashier's desk, which I thought was interesting. I went back that night and there were a ton of tables going on. In hindsight, I wish I had moved tables because the one I was randomly pointed to was a little nittier and tougher to read than the morning table I had and I think if I had moved somewhere else, I would have possibly fared better, but I still had a profitable evening, so I can't complain too much.

I profited 222 big blinds in just 6 hours total for the morning and night, so I was happy. I'll probably go to St. Louis in April for their event. Harrahs had a lot of tables when I went last Summer without the WSOP so I assume they will have even more then. And, I'll try to stay longer for Tunica next time. There was a CRAZY $5/$10 NL game next to me that had pots bloating up often. Sunny Mehta was in that game for a while and he co-authored one of my favorite no limit books "Professional No Limit". One guy or girl (to be honest, I wasn't sure of the gender) won a pot around 11k. I briefly talked to a player in that game as I was leaving saying "That 5/10 game looked pretty wild" and he said there was a big fish who you just waited to get a good hand against and make all your money that way. He thinks that guy lost 19k or so.

I'm glad I went and definitely want to keep cultivating my live game for this reason. My "live" bankroll is @ $3k which is probably sufficient for typical, soft $200NL games but probably a little low for $300NL but if I continue to build it up in home games and "game select" well in casinos, hopefully I'll have it where I need it to be to go regularly.

For whatever its worth, the Horseshoe claimed to have several games going on their property, too, so Harrah's wasn't the only game in town, but I didn't see the need to check out anyone else.
