Hello,

I'm heading to Vegas in May (MGM Grande) with my wife, and ideally, would like to play maybe 1-2 tournies. Can anyone let me know what the $30 tournies at excalibur / MGM grande would be like? Are they fishey? The excalibur one says it's starts at 9:00 am, lasts 2-3hrs, $30 buyin, 300 chips...

Look at allvegaspoker.com

Especially check out the forums. There's also a sortable tournament info chart by buyin, chips, rebuy, etc. From what I've read the best/lowest buyin tournament with a decent structure is the Sahara $42+14.

I've played the Aladdin 10am which is a good tournament, 2 years ago it was $45 for either 2000 or 2500 in chips. The Sahara is a good one but I paid $62 for 2500 in chips, I think they have morning evening and late night and I thought they were the same buy in for all three all of these were during the week as the buy in goes up on the weekend. If you want to play sit n go's I've heard from son in law that the Plaza downtown is good, cheap buy in $35 and top two are paid.
