Hi,
My level online is freerollish.
In one of those freerolls I won an entry to a satelite, and then I won the satelite.
Now I will play in a €400 live tourney. Have zero experience off the internet. What are the most important things to think about?

First of all, you want to be comfortable being able to declare bets, playing in turn, mucking your cards without flipping them over and all that live poker etiquette stuff. If the dealer and other players are complaining about your sloppy play this may throw you off your game.
Another thing you should focus on is counting the pot size and estimating opponents stack sizes. Online you have numbers all over the place and its easy to calculate pot size, pot odds and opponents stack sizes. Try counting these numbers when you are out of pots as well, its a skill you must learn to play well live.
Especially since this is your first live tourny, I would suggest playing tight for the first level or 2 for a couple of reasons:
1) Get used to your environment(reasons stated above)
2) Gather information on other players.
and...
3) Its a good strategy to play tight (like squeaky tight!) early on when the blinds aren't really worth stealing. Unless you are an excellent hand reader and post flop player than there really isnt much value in splashing around in a ton of pots early on.
After you get comfortable I would start adjusting to the table. For example, if the table is also playing tight, open up more from late position and mix in some raises with suited connectors, medium pairs and Hands like A8o, KJ etc.
When the blinds become valuable to steal, use your position to steal blinds against people who will let you steal their blinds! Stealing blinds in live tournaments is a MUST, and you have to pick your targets wisely.
Without writing a novel, I'll say one last thing....don't ante yourself out. push all in when your M is getting around 8. If you don't know what M is....well figure it out.
Hope that helps a bit!

People in live donkaments don't know how to push/fold when the blinds get big. There will probably be antes, so the pots preflop are huge and worth taking down. Make sure you notice which players (to your left) are too tight preflop and steal their blinds mercilessly when the blinds are big. GL! Post a trip report when you're done.

I would suggest playing at least one live tornament, cheap at your local casino.
First time can be very confusing and daunting.

Ok, thx for all the tip. I just came back from the tourney. Went quite well. I have to tell you, Im not proud of it, but I was playing scared money on the bubble.
Anyways, I was just ITM, and took down €600.
