Well having played online for a while I'm eager to sit down at a table with people. I've just discovered that the Gutshot club in London has a £10NL tournament on Sundays which seems like a good place to learn/play.

A couple of questions about it though:

- How popular is the Sunday tournament? Will I need to get there in plenty of time?
- What's the club like in general? Would you recommend it?

Cheers,

I have been there a few times so I will give you my two pennies. I haven't played the Sunday tournament but I think you can safely assume it will be quite popular because of the low buyin + weekend, I would guess 50-100 people playing. Registration starts normally 30 mins before the tournament starts, I would recommend trying to get there when registration opens.

Gutshot is much better now that they have the seperate room for tournaments, but its still a cardroom and not a casino so don't go there expecting a very stylish place - its more like a bar with poker rooms. I have never had a problem with the players there and in general they seem to be pretty friendly (as friendly as gamblers get). The quality of play in the cheap tournaments will be pretty bad, if its a rebuy be prepared to gamble it up. Tables will be self dealt, with a dealer at the final table.

Thanks arkana - I think I'll give it a shot.

Just out of interest, are there any other card houses around London that you (or anyone else!) would recommend?
