ChezJ is an unknown quantity at this point
the usual house rule is that if two players' cards touch, they are both declared dead.

say you are heads up on the river against a guy who isn't protecting his cards, and you know you are beaten.

you are first to act, and instead of checking or betting, you fold by throwing your cards right at his, and they touch.

is his hand declared dead, or does your folding action automatically mean he wins the pot? if it is the former, then who wins the pot?

I don't know the answer to this one. It's never happened while I've been dealing. I have a feeling it will fall under the "Floorperson's decisions are final" rule. Once the dealer calls the floorperson over and describes the situation, I'm almost certain the guy throwing the cards will have to relinquish the pot.

If the case involved 3 people, then the guy not involved would get the pot. The guy throwing the cards would get a punch in the face for sure then.

I'll ask a couple of guys at work that have been dealing for a long time tonigh and let you know what I find out.

This happened to me when I was very new on one of my first outings playing $3/$6 at a local casino. My cards were face down (can't remember if I had a chip on them or not), and when I bet on the river the guy was blatently folding and just threw his right on mine and yelped "dead hand!". It really was no big incident at all, the dealer just took them in and gave me the pot, did not call over the floor or anything.

It was pretty ignorant of the guy, but I think he was trying to be funny more than anything else. I was still very aprehensive since I was new to the experience so I did not get in a hostile confrontation with the guy or anything.

Could u imagine the WSOP ME final table? Poker would evolve into a card throwing contest. Ferguson would win every event.

And if Ferguson missed the cards, he'd rip your fingers off
