Ok, so i had a situation today, we were 3 handed in a SnG, i am the big stack raising most hands preflop, the other two are equal and blatently playing for 2nd place so i was taking advantage...blinds at 200/400, i raise it to 1k from the small blind, bb says "bully...lol" and calls. Then i raise another 800 on JT3 flop, it is about 1/4 of his stack. He looks like he is thinking about it, so I say "you think so?", and he says "not now" and folds. Now i know this may have made no difference whatsoever, but i was wondering if anyone frequently uses the tactic of talking to players to try and get them to raise/call/fold in a certain situation. If so, do you believe it makes a lot of difference?

I watched someone do this very effectively in a freeroll...
He'd say really stupid things like, "Damn, hit the wrong button, do me a favor and don't call me let me just steal the blinds here" after going All in preflop. He got two callers and turned over KK. Another time he reversed is tactic and proded people to "call me, go ahead, give me your money" and people read it as 'strong is weak' and he got 3 callers. He had AA.
Seems like it could be very effective but to do it right you need to keep switching it up for maximum efficiency... strong is weak, then strong is strong, then weak is strong...
The amount of effort this requires turns me off a bit.
I like to sit quiet and concentrate on executing my game.
