Have a question,
Playing friday night at local casino .... was on the BB and have flopped the k high flush, with UTG & MD in the Pot..... UTG had been drinking and bet out 30 euro's in the pot... but dealer claimed a string bet and just reconignized a 10 euro bet, and pushed back 20 euro's to UTG MD raised to 30 euro's and I reraised, with everyone folding. Thanked the dealer for screwing me out 20 extra..and laughed that no tip would be coming...
Question is?? Is it standard, that string bets the extra/incorrect cash get pushed back to the bettor? or does it stay in the pot? I understood the all cash stays in the pot but only the accepted bet needs to called or raised? Tried looking it up and have seen no absolute rule....

The ruling sounds correct. You can't throw out a bet of 10, then go back and throw 20 more into the pot to make it a bet of 30.
The rule about money staying in the pot applies to partial calls. Such as if player A bets $50, and then player B tries to bet $20 by putting $20 in the pot. Most rules would state that he can now either fold and forfeit the $20, or call for $30 more.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

The ruling is correct, thats the meaning of a string-bet, you cant put money in the pot in 2 movements, and the 2nd one does not count
