$5/$10 NLHE

Gambler: $1500
Me: $1700
Aggro Monkey: $1300

UTG Straddles because he saw them do it on Poker After Dark and he thinks it's cool.
Gambler makes it $60. I think he's on an aggro monkey rush because he's built up a stack from $120. That said, his usual MO is to limp.
I flat with :Qd: :Jd:
3 other players call.

5 to the flop, ~$300 in the pot.

Gambler Bets $100
I raise to $300
Aggro Monkey shows pain. Counts out a call, thinks... then goes all-in. (the "fuck-it" part wasn't verbally said.)
Gamb00l hates life and folds. Says he has a pair.
I ask for a count, then call ~$900 more.

Aggro monkey doesn't totally hate money, but he does shit like straddle, raise, re-raise and bet light. He's not shy about playing big pots, playing back at people and generally giving action. Young Asian guy with a nasty scowel and piece of rail candy sitting behind him.

Was it real pain...or was it acting pain? I guess by your read it was real pain. That being said he probably only has one pair and your jack and queen outs may be good, giving you proper odds to call.

The worse scenario is that he has a high flush draw.

what did u end up doing? I would of called. 1 to 2 odds. 900 for about a 2100 pot, honestly its not your best odds (your just under pot odds for calling) but seeing how that guy plays and etc i would call. My best guess is that he has two pair (he straddled and could have anything).

He most likely has top pair, right? So it's a question of whether your pot odds give you enough equity to justify calling as about a 2 to 1 underdog.

We limit players deal with this one all the time.

My hand won unimproved. My biggest equity killers are better flush draws.

Ummm.... when you have gutshots and overs. I hope you're not folding a good flush draw on an unpaired board in a limit game!

Not generally. I might based on a read (heads up against a true nit where my outs may not be any good) or when it's a tiny pot after the rake and villain figures to fold if I make my hand.
