Ok, so I wanted to start to read my opponents to take my game to the next level.

So, first off, I had to look at my own game and it's flaws. Looking at my own flaws allowed me to start to understand the process of developing a read on another player.

The first epiphany I had was, "Ok, what're movements that EVERY player has to make?". First off, they have to look at their cards. Then I broke that down into three complete movement. They adjust their body to look. Study their body posture and demeanor. Then, watch the body/head when they view the cards. I have narrowed that down to really pay attention their wrists, fingers, shoulders, and neck. Every fish knows not to give away a facial tell(and if not then quit, ok ok that's harsh...just retire from life ). I've noticed that the joints in us humans tend to be the areas with less control, or way to much control. So I HAVE to pay attention to the limbs reaction to the cards. The last part of viewing cards is how long do they look at them before putting them back flat on table/movement putting cards down. Again, I pay close close closseee attention to limbs once the player has viewed his cards.

Now, here's the hard part for the idiots. You're not done.

This is only the first part of your read on the player. What's the one absolute next move the player must make to stay in the hand? That's right Billy, the player must bet.

Ok, so now you take what you picked up from your opponent while he/she viewed their cards and carry it into the read on the bet. Was my opponent as stiff as Anna Nicole Smith after some hours or is my opponent so relaxed you think he/she may be on oxycontin? Or maybe even they were twitching, somewhat paranoid like Tyrone the crackhead down the street? The body posture/movement pre-bet is HUGE. It allows me to decide if this person is telling me the truth that his raise represents the best hand at the table or if he's a lying sack of shit hoping that God himself set the deck to flop him the nuts?

Now, I can't tell you what posture/movement/etc. means what, and anyone who says there's a set tell......they're lieing out of their fucking teeth and probably sitting on a bankroll filled with pennies and nickels...and maybe some lint.

This is where your patience, attentiveness, and motivation to read your opponent comes in. Watch the players for a good amount of hands. ESPECIALLY when the hand is played out to the end. That way you will be able to see if he had the nuts and how he acted while holding them as well as how he acted holding a pile of shit.

These small and seemingly obvious things are overlooked everyday and cost you money. So when the dealers shoots you your two whole cards next time, instead of immediately looking at them(unless you're underthe gun you slow playing geezer) try sitting their and watching each one of your opponent, study him/her and make mental notes....and study them all the way down to the last best.

I promise you that this will help if you actually take action and put some effort into it. Shit, it will save you tons and earn you more.

Peace.
Feels like I'm climbing in a tree.

The concentration, and associative capacity needed to perform most of this is well beyond the capabilities of myself and I'd assume many other players. That and the fact that I'm mostly just playing online means that I can't even begin to incorporate this advice. Was a nice read though!
Hey knucklehead! Bonk!
