I am thinking of dipping my feet in the water regarding live cash poker and have some very general questions which probably do not have straight answers.

The stakes are £1/£1 max buy in £100 min buy in £25

Would it be best to play 5% rake on all pots above £10 capped at £5 or pay £5/hr to sit down.

How much can I expect to win, hourly rate (very rough estimate obv)

assume I am good to average, all players are bad to worse.
dealer dealt.

Any comments would be great./

Since there's probably a £1 minimum rake every hand it's probably close... it depends on how many pots you expect to win/hr and what the average pot size is... if you're going to bully the table and raise them out of a lot of pots, then the £5/h should be the better deal... If there's 5 players to the flop every hand after a 10x open raise, then take the rake - because you're unlikely to play more than 3 or 4 hands / hour.

But don't forget that it's going to cost you a lot more than that. You'll be tipping the dealers, you'll be tipping the service staff, plus whatever you're going to consume on average... it will be hard to take any money out of that game.

Also just having a better fundamental understanding of the game than your opponents doesn't necessarily make you a favorite to win... If they tilt less, don't give off free information yadda yadda

I don't see how you're expected win rate is going to be important. It's the lowest game you can possibly play live... just crush and move up.
So you found FTR, and you're asking questions, so that probably puts you on the top of the pile of live players right there, but chances are you're still ranking to loose over the long run. Just focus on playing well, improving and don't get too obsessed with hourly rates and such and you should be fine.
All this "how much bb/100" stuff keeps you from focusing on all the things that are important.
