My friends and local buds started playing this right when it started over a year ago. I left for college, came back and it was HUGE. They run a legit game following all IL State laws. They have a different hosting charity every weekend.
It's 18 and older, so I love hitting it up as i'm only 19. The games are typically soft, and the players are pretty clueless. AK IS THE NUTS BABY! Win or Lose I always have a fun time.

Events are held all over Northern IL. Hit me up sometime and we can go crash some games
EDIT: Whoops fixed the link!!

On friday I will be playing in the 150$ MTT FO they hold at 7:30. It would be cool to get some FTR players there to show their abilities. Directions are located on the website.
I don't really know of many FTR members around Chicago area, but it is definately a fun time. Many fish, not many good players. 18+ TO PLAY!
If anyone is interested let me know. I will probably start playing this event weekly.

How do these work?
Is there a rake for the ring games?
Are the structures good for the tournaments?

It is a charity event. It is run like a casino and the rake structure is I believe is standard (10% to 5$).
The MTT structure is fast, but entertaining. 15 min levels you start with 3000 chips. I am not sure where blinds start. There are a lot of fish who don't understand blindsteals or position play so even with the quick levels an advanced player has the edge.
The SnG structure is also fast. It all depends on the buyin. The higher ther buyin the longer the tourny. The low buyin SnGs have 12? min levels winner take all. Most players 2-3 way chop, but I never do because they all suck HU .
If you don't like rake, Friday we will be playing for Malcom Eaton, which is a charity I would traditionally donate to anyway.

It is all on the website.
The ring action is 1-3 2-5 5-10 10-20.
I played today and kept putting my money in ahead and losing. The fish are pretty bad.

How are the 5-10 and 10-20 games?
I heard something about you can't leave with over $250 or something, what is that?

State law doesn't allow you cash with over 250$ of your buyin. Easy way around this if you have a huge night is just sell chips to players during the night. I normally sell a few hundred during the night.
I've won over $3000 in the last 5 times I've went.

I've never been, but some of the players in my Resorts nl game go to this all the time. One older guy (65-ish) named Vic claims to do pretty well there. Maybe you know him?
