Specifically, Muncie IN, which is kind of in between between Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne. Any cardrooms in the area? Pokerpages shows only 5 in the state, all far away from Muncie. And none in Ohio.

Dudes, I found an awesome cardroom in downtown Muncie!! ROYAL CROWN HOLD 'EM CLUB on N. Walnut St. It is a legal establishment for the next month, then a new law will kick in and they will close in July. But for now, you can play NL tourneys and cash games there and it is way better than any casino I've ever seen.
There is NO RAKE, only a time charge of $5 per HOUR (not half hour). The normal cash game is $1/$2 NL with a $40 min/$300 max buyin. It is LOOSE and not too aggressive, though there are certainly agg elements. There was one "pro"-ish guy who was a big stack bully (til he got busted), but the rest of them were dumb, drunk, friendly, and/or amusing. Everybody seemed to know each other. The dealer even called players by name when it was their turn. It was a fun atmosphere and very +EV.
I beat the game for about $33 in <2 hours of play. Unfortunately, they closed around 1:15 a.m. tonight (a Saturday?!) due to lack of players. They have 14 tables but only the one cash game was going when I arrived around 11. Apparently their main thing is their daily tournaments, which are only like $5-$15 to buy in, plus $10 rebuys. WTF, it is cheaper than a home game! But with professional dealers and conveniences like TV's and a snack bar.
The dealers are surprisingly lenient in enforcing the house rules -- more than we are in my home games. If the players in a hand don't care, they'll allow string bets or other honest newbie mistakes. At one point, the place was nearly empty and the manager was in the back playing with his computer, while the front desk (where all the chips were) was left totally unattended. I could have reached over the counter and stolen tons of chips... but then again, I wouldn't have been able to spend them without everyone at the one open table instantly knowing where they'd come from.
Basically, this is a glorified home game for the locals, including students/recent grads from Ball State University. Management's attitude is so relaxed, it feels like they only run the place as a hobby, not a serious business. This is in stark contrast to the underground cardrooms where everything is very strict and security is stiff. This is more like walking into a frat house.
If you live anywhere near Muncie, IN, you gotta go check out this game before it shuts down at the end of the month. There is major dough being given away here!
