Tyson and I went to Reno last summer. It hasn't grown the way Vegas has over the last 20 years or so. We stayed at Circus Circus which is in a pretty good spot (on the North end of the main cluster of casinos). We wrote about Circus Circus: http://www.flopturnriver.com/Reno-Ci...us-Casino.html and El Dorado: http://www.flopturnriver.com/Reno-Eldorado-Casino.html

The Peppermill was kind of cool, the poker room there had 12 tables and they had an electronic waiting list.

We also visited Harrah's (they had a 2006 World Series of Poker Buy-In Tournament in September of 2005). Harrah's had 7 tables in the poker room when we were there but only 1 was occupied.

Cal Neva had 7 tables in the poker room and daily SnGs.

Atlantis only had 5 tables in the poker room.

The Reno Hilton is pretty nice but it is kind of isolated in that it isn't next to the other casinos. At the time we visited the Hilton they were (and still might be) an official charter member of the World Poker Tour. The Reno Hilton seemed to be a good spot for tournaments, I would check them out if you want to play in one. I think the poker room had about 7 tables.

I'd like to go back at some point and write up reviews for the above poker rooms. Let us know how your trip goes, like I said we'd like to add more Reno poker rooms to our Brick and Mortar review section.

Good luck dude. It would be awesome to hear about how it went when you come back.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
