OK, I was at a home tourney the other night, where one of the regulars (an asshat who is not on my dis list), start his normal bullshit - complained evertime things didn't go his way, etc, etc. Amazingly he got on the hosts nerves this time (gets on mine everytime). He almost got booted out of the tourney. So I got to thinkin.. What to do with his buyin/rebuy's/addons in this situation - should he get his money back as you kick him out the door forever, or keep his money as the house rules state and deal with it in the backyard ? I have always said that once the money is in the pot it stays until payout - no exceptions! (ok, maybe if a wife got into an accident, and the guy was still thinking about his $20 as he runs out the door). What would you do in this situation. I don't take any shit, but I try to be fair so the other players respect my decisions.
Thanks,
Buckeye

If there's a posted rule you have to stick with it. People getting the idea that posted rules are actually just guidelines will kill your game quicklike.
That said, I don't know if I like the rule "house can boot you and keep your money if we find you obnoxious". A player who complains doesn't quite justify this to me. He'd have to be hostile, esp. toward a particular other player/players.

I wouldn't like a rule that "what's in teh pot stays in teh pot" if you kick a guy out, although this would be a bit extreme, don't ya think? If you do kick him out, I think he's entitled to his buy in back.

The 'No Refunds' rule was geared toward those that decided to leave, because they didn't like a rule or because the wife called bitchin about them being out too late, etc. Kicking someone out has never crossed my mind until the other night - never even came close at my place. Thanks for the input - obviously the right thing to do would be to give the asshat his money back if it HAD to come to booting him. I don't think this would be a contradiction of the rules, I'm sure everyone would understand.
I just found out the guy also insulted all the women there, some playin' for their first time. He also felt up a wife who was passed out on the couch downstairs. A few said they will never play poker again.
Thanks again,
Buckeye

I wouldn't kick him out. I'd just tell him to stfu and when the night was done that he would not be invited back again.

i'd give him his money back, send him on his way and chalk it up as the cost you guys have to pay for not ever having to play with him again....in which case you got a bargain at twice the price.
