Home Games Forum: Frequently Asked Questions

Since we are growing in membership by leaps and bounds. I thought I might take the inititive, and try to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about home games.

1. GAME ORGANIZATION/ RULES: The be all end all of home game organization has to be Home Poker Tourney.com. It is one of the best resources on the net to starting your own home tournament or cash game. Especially blind structures and chip break downs. Check it out.

2. POKER CHIPS: Read the following link Poker Chip Buying Guide

3. PLAYING CARDS: One word will answer this question. KEM! Expensive yes, but you will never have to buy another set of cards again (Barring catastrophe of course.) The only real choice is poker or bridge size. With poker being a wider card. Also alot of casino's use regular cards from Gemaco and Bee. Ebay is a good place to find KEM's.

Those are usually the "Big Three" as far as home questions go. Most important though is to have fun at your home game. Make it less about the money and more about having a good time. Respect the hosts rules. And if they look like they could use some guidance. Send them here. :P

Xianti if you would be so kind as to sticky this. Maybe we could avoid duplicate postings in the future. Which brings me to using the search feature. Please, before posting, do a quick search for the subject you are asking a question about. It may have already been covered in a previous post. Thanks a bunch.
