Hey all,
What is your casinos rake on a live 5/10 limt game?
I ask this because the 1 casino where I live (Sydney) takes 75 cents off every seated player before the blinds are even posted as their rake. As the tables are ALWAYS full thats $7.50 per hand skimmed off which seems very steep...

I must be misunderstanding you.... are you saying that they take .75 from each player every hand?
Around where I play they rake the pots. They don't take a time rake or anything else, just raked pots. Its 10%, to a certain max which I don't recall what it is right now. This is for the 6/12 game around my place.

You didn't misunderstand, that is exactly what I am saying... ! Anyone playing pays $7.50 per lap of the table in blinds and $7.50 in rake.

I'm glad I don't play at that casino in Sydney. I don't see how many players could defeat those odds and make a long term under those conditions.

It is. Most casino rake is bad enough but this is ridiculous. I would never play in this game.

Most low stakes games are around 10% the pot up to $4 or $5 max I think.,

Sounds to me like you should find another game until that casino finds another cardroom manager. Most places rake the pot 10% up to 5 dollars plust a badbeat dollar for pots over 20, but this seems like it would slow the game down so much that I wouldn't want to play in just for that matter. Find somewhere else to go dude! Start a home game and save your money.
