I wanted to put it up here to see how many NorCal players there are here at FTR. I am in the process of renovating the garage to my office/poker room. I was curious to see if there is anybody that would be interested in gettin on my guestlist for home game announcements. I am also curious if there are any homegames up here that I could possibly bring my ca$h to

Sacramento is a bit too far for me. Let me know if you're ever in San Francisco.
Slightly off-Topic but here are my experiences of trying to set up home games in SF..
I tried to play a couple of microlimit home games with my friends here.. We played "dealers choice" and after a few decent rounds the dealer announced that the game would be Blackjack! I tried to explain that BlackJack is not poker and that the dealer has an advantage over everyone else in such a game, but everyone seemed to like BlackJack better and labled me a spoil sport. Anyways, the rest of the night was like half BlackJack and half 7 card draw with 2 wilds...
Another friend here said that he sometimes plays low limit poker. I asked if his group would be open to a NL Hold 'Em game and he said "No limit? No way!" He was afraid of losing hundreds of dollars in one hand. I tried to explain the concepts of max buy-in and table stakes, but I don't think I got through to him.
Oh well, maybe if I'm lucky I'll run into that magician guy.

SF is kewl...I used to party out there when I lived closer, but would be willing to make the drive for a good card game.
I run into the same problems here with about 1/2 the people I try to entice into coming to a home game. "No way I am playing NL!" is their usual reply and getting them to listen is exactly as you describe.
Sad that people will play Blackjack with lousy odds, but refuse to play poker. Oh well.

Hmm.. Sacramento is only an hour and a half away? I might be able to do that. Especially if you've got a nice table. Let's see if anyone else posts.
I thought Sacramento was further away.

My in-laws are in the Sac area so we go up there a lot to visit. I usually don't have a lot of free time when we're up there but you never know...
