Changes in conversation, including the rate of speech, the quantity of speech, and the words utilized are good poker tells, what do you think?

Not everyone is very chatty at the table, those who are are usually well acutomed to live play and are less likey to give away easy tells.
If someone is very chatty, then shuts up, in usually means a good hand, if someone is talking shit acting strong, it could mean weakness.
Tells are not an exact science and are overrated.

I know that tells aren't an exact science, as nothing in human nature and behavior is, but I don't think you can say that tells in poker are over rated as it is the main part of the game (for me atleast).
There are so many tiny tells that you can pick up on, and most of them you don't even realize that you are seeing, but you just sense them. I think this is where the feelings of paranoia, or the feeling that someone is watching you come from in day-to-day life. Just tiny things that we don't realize that we are seeing but we are taking in.
I put a post on my blog about it and there is a video clip which explains what I mean about our subconscious tells and how to read them which would be worth checking out.

Picking up on tells in live games if often the difference between losing and winning players. Its something you have to develop to be truly successful IMO.

"Tells" are about what you TELL them, while you listen to what they TELL you!
The less you answer vs. ask = long-term $$
The more you watch, and listen vs. showing what they want to SEE, and saying what they want to HEAR = long-term $$

I look at their rate of breathing, or if I can see a throbbing blood vessel in the neck.

Have you played in live games at the $5/$10 (NLHE) level and below? The play is really retarded.

I have a problem with indicating tells from a player. It takes to much time for me to figure it out so I rely solely on betting pattern and gut feeling.
