ok i wasnt sure whether or not this question belonged in this topic, but since the problem occured during a home game I decided to post here. Ok, so we were playing a two table tourney and on my table two people were in a very important hand. On the river one guy bets and the other folds, the winner decides to show the hand to ONLY the two people sitting to his right but yet kept it hidden from everyone else. Now at the time I didnt say anything because I dont know if youre allowed to show your cards to some people but not to others...So is what he did allowed or not??

No, I believe you have to show everyone. In fact, if I have it right you can be asked to show your mucked cards at showdown by anyone, including people not involved in the showdown. This is rude as hell, though, so no one does it.

Roberts Rules of Poker. Section 3 - The Showdown
6. If you show cards to an active player during a deal, any player at the table has the right to see those exposed cards. Cards shown during or after a deal to a player not in the pot should be shown to all players when the deal is finished.
This is known as the "show one, show all" rule.
