Ok yesterday i was playing 1/2 no limit @ a table for about 30min with 9 people as time progress we were down to 8 the dropped right to six i was down a lousy $9 and was UTG so i figured may as well let this be my last hand so i got JJ & raised it to $15 some one reraised i went all in he call with QQ I ended up hitting the river to make my set. Now telling my self before the hand was dealt that i was leaving & doing so some of the other players were upset cuz the table was going to get broken & put on a waiting list. Did they have a valid reason to be mad @ me or did i just hit & run on them or what

It dropped to 6 handed while you were UTG? If so, I don't see it as a hit and run, you got lucky for sure, but the table was already dying. Don't let anyone force you to play shorthanded if you don't want to.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

it doesn't sound like he announced he was leaving.

I would only stay if the guy you stacked is still there

I did say that i was leaving once he called before the flop was dealt i said this was gonna be my last hand anyways cuz the table was dead & i ended up hitting does that make me obligated or polite to stay the guy i took the chips from was still there with about 1/3 of the chips he had

Makes a difference IMO yeah. You said you were leaving win or lose, so the fact you won doesnt change things. As long as you announced prior to winning it seems fine to leave.
Just playing to improve.

Sounds to me like they were just trying to keep you there to prevent the table from being broke up, and just using "hit'n'run" as an excuse to guilt you.

Generally agree with the comments above.

You under no obligation to play short-handed if you don't want too and I don't see a hit and run here since you announced you were leaving before the flop.

However, if you're not dealing with a deadline, it would be a nice thing to hang another round or couple and maybe keep the table from breaking. Next time, you may be the one wants to play and I'm sure you'd appreciate someone giving a little extra time for the seats to get taken so the game can keep going.

QFT. The money you have won is yours. You are under no obligation to let anyone win any of it back, nor play any longer than you want to. Slow-rolling is poor etiquette. Miscalling your hand is cheating. Leaving when you want is fair game.
